Greed. Plain and simple, cut these employees off and take their shares of the company. Smfh DO NOT SUPPORT BUNGIE OR DESTINY

Edited by max: 11/1/2023 5:24:16 PMYes the Sony-owned Bungie fired all these people, this desperate search for a good guy is quite pointless, both Bungie and their Zaibatsu masters are greedy animals This community was more than happy to be critical when Activision, who actually made Bungie deliver held the wheel but when it comes to Sony, the known laissez faire wannabe that did nothing but drawing manpower, they get the innocent narrative? Give me a break, these two deserve each other, and the only people I feel sorry for here are the players still holding on to their pre-orders

1 ReplyNot greed. Poor imagination, design and the implementations of the design, killed this game. Half the player base left because Lightfall and everything after it, was horrible. https://www.eurogamer.net/bungie-reportedly-warned-employees-of-sharp-drop-in-destiny-2-popularity-prior-to-layoffs

Just wrong. Sony told them how much to cut. Bungie just had the task of choosing specifically who to put in that group. They're both at fault.

Edited by CHAN9E: 11/2/2023 6:32:06 PMI'm sure Sony suggested the people responsible should be let go.. Instead of the leadership taking ownership, they sacrificed low hanging fruit. Sony certainly recognized this and now the leadership is certainly doomed. Nobody like bad leadership.. petes days are numbered

I do think Sony had a hand in this in at least putting pressure on Bungie to make these bigger changes. Likely Sony wanted them to cut cost, so Bungie pulled the nuclear option. None of this happens in a vacuum. Laying off people kinda stinks, but companies often use it as a pretext of cleaning house. You drop people that cost a lot to employ and try to see if the value they bring matches the cost. That’s why a lot of people are saying those fired were underperforming. People like Salvatori who make tons of money can’t always be held onto. And if Bungie thinks they need to make larger cutbacks up to senior staff, people like him who are outgrowing the video game publisher space can’t always be held onto. I think this was a major case of Bungie making a massive wrong-decision that’s going to hurt the game going forward, but this was likely influenced by Lightfall’s reception, player sentiments/monetization, and Sony putting pressure to make the company more profitable and curb their burn-rate

I feel bad for SONY, they overpaid

Bungie is Sony

2 RepliesEdited by SnakeEyes734: 10/31/2023 11:42:03 PMIt's complicated lol. Destiny is known for amazing devs and it's talent. Basically do you want another light fall? You like the increase in these massive game breaking bugs occuring more often? Well this is how to start improving things * UNDERSTAND Besides the long-term devs getting let go (which sucks) many of these layoffs were also about quality of work.....it's sad but true * Please do not try to find out who these devs were

I think A I might be apart of it also, have A I to do the job this is very bad Here comes the terminators. What was science fiction will become reality.
