New QoL request [Raid Checkpoints]

Add a checkpoint menu to raids/ dungeons. If I’ve beat things before I should be able to go to the checkpoint of my choosing imo. Besides most people circumvent the lack of this feature with stealing checkpoints which is toxic or joining in on that checkpoint bot which is just an out of the way version of something that should be apart of the game. Edit: A lot of people are bringing up loot farming as an issue but tbh with you why? All the raids are on weekly lockouts besides the weekly raid and every time there is a raid to farm there are already checkpoint farms all over the lfgs. All the people who raid already get the loot they want. This feature would just eliminate the middle man of getting a checkpoint and be a big help to the players that don’t have as much time as others. Like ghost of the deep for example we all know the first half of that dungeon is the biggest drag in destiny’s history. Would you not just want to go straight to the second encounter checkpoint to save a huge amount of time?

Stops people from having to waste your time to nab a checkpoint and saves you from having to switch a character every time.

    • I think this is fine but only for a character that has already completed the raid during the week. Reset weekly and don’t let it cross characters. So once I clear it on my warlock, that character can pick any cp and launch it. But I can’t do that on my Titan until I clear it on that character. Then it clears everything on Tuesday at reset.

        • Last wish already has an alpha version of this feature via the wish wall. This is a good idea. People already steal checkpoints or use checkpoint bot anyway. Why not cut out the middle. But i have two questions. 1) In your version of this feature, would we unlock a checkpoint after beating each encounter or have them locked until we beat a full raid once? 2) And would this unlock the CP on Master mode too or require us to (answer to Q1) on master to unlock master check points?

            • 100%. I know it, you know it, everybody knows it. How does bungie not know that people steal checkpoints or use checkpoint bots? Players are going to do checkpoints whether bungie likes it or not and who cares honestly? It’s a game for a reason which is to have fun. Stop gatekeeping certain content because most people don’t always have time to get every raid clear on all characters. Sometimes people only have enough time to do a final boss cp for a chance of the exotic. Either bungie has to remove checkpoints or give us the option to choose checkpoints. It’s obvious what one would be best. I think a good middle ground is you have to do the raid normally through all the way at least once then you can have free reign of checkpoints for that raid

                No reason not to. Most modern MMOs are like that anyways. Surprised I haven’t seen anyone ask for this before.

                • I believe they wont do this cause it would just encourage spoils farming. Im not saying its a bad idea im just saying thats probably why they wouldnt want to do that. It takes away a grinding aspect of the game

                  • I agree. If you beat it once in the week. You should be able to go into the Raid wherever you want. But, you had to have beaten it once for the week.

                      • Then we just get Last Wish where nobody wants to actually raid and just wants to abuse one encounter over and over and over. Need to find a way to deincentivize spamming one encounter for all the loot first. Would be smart to not have everything in the raid drop from any one encounter, especially if it's the first, easiest one.
