Been 1.5 hours and the companion app has not updated, telling me that it "Failed to download required Destiny 2 content. Please try again." along with a Retry button that doesn't do anything when tapped. I have logged out once and uninstalled twice.
What gives?

Edited by AugustHaze: 10/25/2023 11:22:35 PMI was able to fix this problem after dealing with it for the past day and a half. I think it has to do with cache sizes in the app. 1. In the app open App Settings in the More section. 2. Under Cache set the Max allowed cache size to at least larger than 100 MB. I noticed after the fix that the cache size was at least 150 MB so i'm guessing the update was much larger than the limit that was set in the app. I set mine to be at least 300 MB but maybe I should I set it to 500 MB just to be safe. 3. In App Info on Android click on Storage and then Clear Cache and that's what fixed it for me after doing an normal update. So basically Bungie sent out an app update that could be bottled necked by an setting. Which is something that needs to be addressed in the future.

I had the same issue. I fixed it by enabling permissions: storage in the app info on my phone itself; then reopened the app and the database downloaded / installed correctly.
