Another year of masks ruining builds
I don't understand why we need to sacrifice build stats in order to use masks an complete event objectives. Just label masks as ornaments, is it that hard? O nevermind, its Bungie, of course is hard for them

I hardly even participate in the events. They force us to change our load outs with crap armor, and the loot isn’t even worth the time nor effort

What do you guys even expect out of this skeleton crew junior dev team... After like 5 years of the exact same reissued unchanged event cycle, what makes you guys expect ANYTHING new or cool or fun or rewarding? It's the same trash every single year. Copy and paste. We even had quests bug at the exact same step 2 years in a row for the last FOTL "events". These devs have given up on D2. They don't care about it. Why do you still?

Can we not just equip the mask at the end of the activity (between killing boss and rewards screen) Yeah I'd prefer the ornament option myself...

Agree should be ornaments although I do remember masks in the forest gave us some degree of power fantasy as they levelled up

I personally feel that Bungie isn't going to do this because that would take an amount of time and effort to code.

Make an emblem the gatekeeper item. Then I don’t have to mess with my build. Maybe the mask gives more candy if it’s such a big deal. I really tired of season events requiring armor or masks that muck up my aesthetic and builds. It’s cute once, but every time is annoying.

Why cant they just make it an perk on the seasonal artifact and let use the mask as an ornament if we want? Bungie is so unwilling to compromise that it's actually painful to play this game at times just because of stupid crap like this.

If you can’t handle lower stats to be strong, you probably shouldn’t be doing the activity anyway.

It's frustrating if you use an Exotic helmet, but you shouldn't be using a Mask if you're playing content where your build actually matters. For the stuff you're required to do for the event card, you can waltz through most of it with any random set of items.

1 ReplyThe problem with ornaments is that players will find a way to use them outside of FOTL. If masks were available year 'round, almost no one would use a helmet. But I do have to agree. It should be transmog anyways, simply because we build our stats how we like them over a very long period of playing, and this just throws a wrench at us instead.

I can't think of a single hunter build that requires a helmet that I can't live without (besides assassin's cowl which I only use for soloing content for which I rarely do) warlock maybe fallen sunstar or cenotaph but arc can easily be replaced with vesper of radius build. Titan there isn't a single helmet build you can't live without
