Please allow a way to convert them into prisms or enhancements cores (not via stingy Rahool). I understand bungie wants us to trim down our vaults, but this new system basically discourages actively trimming ones’ vault.
Perhaps at minimum reward diehard players for the number of shards erased. That would be better than nothing. If I was getting 50k shards just flat out erased- I would expect some level of recompense.
I suggest an emblem in exchange at bare minimum- perhaps even tiered emblems- like if I’m losing 100k shards or even 50k- I’d definitely feel less screwed over with a top tier emblem.
Most of the emblems look very much the same, so how hard can it be to reward veteran players getting screwed with another generic emblem? Or even better- one that reflects and Respects players’ time and efforts.
Lol. I literally have only 19 shards in my inventory at present. But, I’m a stingy wastrel- yet I stand by my recommendation that players who have many thousands of shards erased should get a cool emblem for their efforts.

I’m strongly against playing this game anymore.

42 RepliesYou just have to get used to Bungie ruling their dictatorship with an iron fist. This is only the umpteenth time they've deprecated a currency because more of their playerbase knows how to manage resources than they gave us credit for.
-
3 RepliesThey say that excess shards give players who have played longer a strategic advantage, so convert them to bright dust 1:1 which can only be used for cosmetics Problem solved.

5 RepliesRemember when each character had their own armor materials before they became a generic armor mat? Weapon parts, and then gunsmith materials? Etheric light, motes of light, strange coins a handful of different times? Glass needles? All the different planet materials before you could just buy them, then they were removed and used only to trade in for glimmer? Bungie will never keep all players on an even playing field, and this is just the most recent, poorly thought out attempt. This is just the latest form of disrespect for the players who have been here since the beginning. The latest proof that Bungie couldn't give a f___ about your time or investment. We've been playing for so long, that most drops are instantly sharded, and banked, for the hope of something worthy to use them on. Now, all those drops will just be what, glimmer that we're constantly full on, until we buy things one day and we're completely empty? In all their number tracking on the backend, I wonder if they ever tracked how much glimmer we lost over the years, from being full or not wanting to pick up every piece of it that scatters about after fights...

5 RepliesWe're not getting compensated because of all the people that abused and exploit to get an ungodly number of legendary shards. Get mad at them for us not getting anything in return for the removal of legendary shards.
-
19 RepliesI’m gonna make a guess that most if not all of you players advocating for this being a bad thing exploited for over 90% of your shards
-
3 RepliesIt so disappointing how they disrespect the players time and effort.
-
I understand why they’re getting rid of them, but its definitely a hole they dug themselves
-
8 RepliesI believe that Bungie has realised over these past few seasons, that the vets are losing interest in this once great game, and instead of trying to encourage them to stick it out, have decided to disregard them altogether, and concentrate on the newer players who haven't experienced the best of Destiny, and are happy to play this rubbish.
-
1 ReplyEh...I don't think that's really necessary. People complain about "time and investment," but EVERYTHING you do gives them in some form. Most people are also sitting on so many of them that the conversion of any kind would be the same as just being stocked up on shards. At the very least they could give glimmer or something like other materials they trashed.
-
Another emblem I'm not going to use is the last thing I need.
-
I’m strongly for less currencies.
-
As one of those people that actually does have a mountain of them that I wasn't doing anything with, I truly don't care that they're leaving and I don't need anything back for it. Also why would you literally ask for "another generic emblem" just to commemorate having shards? 😂 Don't worry. We're getting that jumbled up garbage for the crafting thing. Just tell your brain it's also for having legendary shards.
-
1 Replythen use them, infinite lumen stack is good tbf , and again this shard change is just to help new players
-
3 RepliesThey’ve given everyone a 2 season warning. That’s half a year. There are plenty of ways to spend them and you have more than enough time to do so. If you get to TFS and have all of your legendary shards ‘erased’ it’s no one’s fault but your own.
-
Who cares
-
We are Bungie and we don’t care what the player base sentiment is at this moment
-
1 ReplyThey just hate their veteran players being able to casually play the game. Everyone has to be on the same level even though the vets helped keep destiny alive. Rank 11 doesn't show veteran status, and neither will having a stock pile of materials for focusing. "But the shard exploits undermines that". Sure, it may for those around during those short periods. But it doesn't for all of us who earned them over the years. I'll say it again. If I have to do public events for glimmer. I'm out. Vanilla d2 was not a fun experience.
-
The inconvenience of buying raid banners with glimmer and needing to farm glimmer is gonna be the biggest turn off gonna burn through over a 100 of them the next day 1 raid
-
Bungie: Dont care, Boo Hoo, Please Buy Finale Shape.
-
10 RepliesConsidering they're trying to make the system mainly glimmer I say let us turn them into glimmer and also increase the cap for glimmer.
-
4 RepliesEdited by COMBATICUS: 10/15/2023 7:23:42 PMYou know it'd be funny if they said we decided not to remove them just yet, after so many people are trying to get rid of them, lol. Then you'd have some players mad that they ended up wasting most of their shards, lol. All jokes aside, they need to remove the cap from rahool, and they need to make raid banners either stack more than 99 or have them added on top with glimmer and goes to 999999. This is their way of trying to control the players and not respect them. At the same time, trying to increase the grind even more. That's one thing I've always noticed with bungie. They always, with each dlc or season, try to increase the grind or things players want reduced, but instead go one step forward and then a whole bunch backwards
-
6 RepliesYea this just continues to show Bungie lied when they claimed to respect the players time and efforts.
-
And now you will get all the messages of Bungie always defenders saying how wrong and exaggerated you are
-
5 RepliesI think everyone is but their whole point is to level the playing field. It is not right but we can’t do anything.
-
I’m just hoping that they don’t make EVERYTHING a capped glimmer grind
