Chill Clip Nerf

Look I get it, two shots on special weapons to three isn't that big a deal. It sucks but it is what it is. But 3 shots to proc chill Clip on a rocket launcher/grenade launcher???? Bungie wtf were you thinking with that? Heavy ammo is way more scarce, and should proc this perk way sooner than a special weapon. It's bad enough the wolf pack rounds no longer proc chill clip, but now I have to shoot half my reserves for ONE freeze? Fix this PLEASE.

  • Riptide was "OP", so what they did is nerfed chill clip, making EVERY SINGLE WEAPON with it irrelevant, except riptide. Big brain Bungie moment. Riptide was the best option, now it is the only option.

      I spent all that time trying to get an ALH/chill clip Lingering Dread. Never did. Now it’s not worth getting. IF a nerf was even warranted(questionable) in the first place, fusions were the potential issue. It should have only applied to fusions. Why do I play this game anymore? Like honestly. The disrespect to player time and investment is just getting so bad.

        • I agree. Weapons like fusion rifles have no problem shooting 3 shots to proc chill clip, but on a rocket or grenade launcher with their slow reload makes it require a lot of setup to pull off. The nerf killed a dream build for me using a lingering dread with auto loading chill clip paired with a rocket launcher with auto chill clip to just proc shatter damage over and over again. By swapping between the two. Now I have to run stasis subclass specifically and throw a stasis turret or duskfield to make up for the slow stacks that chill clip doesn’t do anymore.

        • CC should be 3 on Fusions and 2 on GLs and Rockets for sure. Change basically killed Lingering Dread.

        • That I understand they shouldn't have touched on heavy because you should be making why I want to use a stasis heavy just like how incandescent is a ad clear perk

        • Stasis is one of the newest subclasses, but requires a full on build to even be useful in pve. That's a problem. The problem at it's root is that Bungie invented a subclass that slows and freezes everything. Because of that, it is always going to be oppressive in pvp because it slows gameplay down. That results in constant complaints and people just leaving pvp because it isn't fun anymore.

        • It should have scaled with impact status the amount of slow stacks. It sucks having deliverance and burden of guilt hit in their utility because of the real reason chill clip got nerfed (riptide).

              • I used my ghally in a strike with mods and solar finder and run out of ammo within first 5 mins... thinking more would drop, it dropped 1 more brick just before the boss... Give me ammo bungie so I can run through strikes

              • Chill clip is more so for the slow than anything else really. It was never meant to be a freeze perk. That's why they nerfed it. Slow still stuns overloads which is helpful
