One of the biggest complaints that my friends and I have is that very often something will get nerfed because it’s “too strong” in PvP but the changes then impact how that is used in a range of PvE content.
It is incredibly irritating to feel as if my exotic or ability is now useless in higher end PvE because someone was abusing it on a crucible map.
The best solution for this is already slightly in place with different damage values and damaging tuning for guns in PvP. But why not take it the next step further and have two sandboxes for almost all aspects of your build.
I’m not saying that weapon traits/perks need to behave differently but why can’t ability cooldowns and exotic buffs have different scalings within PvP?
I.E. titan barricade felt great in PvE and kept us alive many times in tight situations because it was relatively frequently. But then because it was too strong in PvP it got nerfed dramatically and now feels like it’s never up when ya need it. Wouldn’t it be more balanced to have changed the cd in crucible alone instead of across the board?

2 RepliesI agree with OP. As a Titan main, I am tired of my PVE play being so wrapped up in PVP balancing. A game mode I rarely touch. The past couple of nerfs for Titan (class and exotic armor) have been solely for PVP balancing. Citans Ramparts, Heart of Inmost Light, Cuirass of the Falling Start, Thundercrash, Barricades, Storm Grenades to just name a few. If there was more to the rationalization of these needs beyond just balancing the PvP meta.
