Thought of picking this up and making a build based off a certain interaction. The Titan subclasses Solar,
Arc, and Void, all have a way of accomplishing “powered melee kills” without melee charge. At least, heavy handed (generate orbs on powered melee kill) makes it seem as such. Arc titans have knockout, void titans have offensive bulwark and solar have roaring flames scorch melee.
Strangely, none of these proc severance enclosures explosion, which appears to be relatively weak kinetic damage.
In comparison to Assassins cowl, a very useful hunter exotic with its place in builds clear and defined, or even felwinters helm, which I recently discovered you can make quite a fun strong build out of for cycling void debuffs, severance enclosure doesn’t even fully work, it feels like.
Potential rework suggestion: give it the chromatic fire treatment. Finishers or melee final blows create an explosion matching the damage type of your subclass. If melee energy is full, consume it and apply a class status effect
Void: suppression
Arc: blind
Solar: light scorch
Stasis: slow
Strand: sever
TLDR: Severance Enclosure bad/not working - cool identity buff/change
Thoughts?

Flechette Storm and Severance Enclosure sounded like such a cool build until I saw it in action.

5 RepliesI’m game for some verb love. Make the pulses proc on hit (charged melee can be larger and a more damaging AoE compared to uncharged) Hitting a target with a melee attack increases melee speed and increases the size and damage of the explosion, stacking up to 3 times for X seconds. Damaging enemies with the explosion grants melee energy. Works with swords and glaives.

I loved it with the frisbee in pvp.

1 ReplyEdited by neonsox42: 10/6/2023 7:51:09 PMVoid (at least back during season 20) worked. Offensive bulwark activated the blasts on every detonation. If you really want to rock it, go Controlled Demo + either a repulsor brace weapon or Vexcalibur. Let’s you generate overshield without having to use bastion. Also Vigilance fragment works too. Every melee kill doubles up on the explosions and also tends to heavily stagger enemies. What takes this over the top is 2 additional fragments. The one that finishers male nearby enemies volatile and generates a void breach on volatile kills, and the one that grants devour on breach pickup. Free devour + your finishers become nukes to clear waves of ads. TLDR: - Severance Enclosure - Vexcalibur - Offensive Bulwark + Controlled Demo - Starvation, Cessation, Persistence, and Vigilance (Vigilance being swappable for something else) Get an overshield for melee booms or go for finishers. Severance immediately kills adds and causes a huge controlled demo chain. If they wanted to buff the exotic, I think upping the blast radius and damage a bit and then maybe letting it give you melee energy on detonations.

Wait, knockout doesn't proc it? I swear it did a while back.

Gilgamesh had a vid link for a killer build, I highly recommend it, severance doesn't need a rework
