Bungie I LOVE this exotic helmet both because it looks awesome with the right armor but also because it's one of the very few truly neutral exotics for Titans that exists.
But I'll be honest, it seriously needs to be buffed because in current day Destiny 2 it's pretty meh.
Absolutely DO NOT WHATSOEVER rework it and make it into a class specific exotic.
Instead here's what you should do to buff it
1. Increase the amount of ability energy you receive when taking damage. Or alternatively make it so that having the helmet equipped reduces the base cool downs of your abilities as well as giving energy back when you take damage.
2. Fix the other half of the perk so that instead of giving you only the red portion of your health bar when you get a kill while critically wounded it instead fully restores your entire health bar when you get a kill while critically wounded.
I think that this is the best way to buff this exotic to make it much better for current day Destiny 2 without taking away this exotics uniqueness.
Just whatever you do, DO NOT MAKE IT CLASS SPECIFIC! We have more than enough class specific exotics in the game and this is one of the very few neutral exotics that exists for Titans.
Edit: After doing some testing I've come to the conclusion that there are no shields in your health bar. I've looked through everything in the game and nowhere can I find anything that even remotely states that guardians have shields. There is no "shield" section of the health bar, it's all health and only health. I know this for a fact because I put the leg armor perk Recuperation on my leg armor and this perk states "Replenishes health each time you pick up an Orb of Power". HEALTH not shields, and yet when I have even a tiny chunk of my health bar missing and I pick up an Orb of Power it instantly refills that chunk (yes the white section and not the red section).
So this exotic IS NOT working properly. It clearly states in the perk that it's supposed to give you maximum health when you get a kill while critically wounded, but it does not.
BUNGIE you need to fix this exotic helmet by fixing the perk so that it actually does as it states and refills your ENTIRE health bar when you get a kill while critically wounded and not just the red section of your health bar.
Additionally you should buff this exotic helmet by either increasing how much ability energy you regain when you take damage, or by making so that having the helmet equipped reduces the base cool downs of your abilities (super excluded obviously)

5 RepliesThat health and shield restore would be the most OP thing ever. One eyed mask did that before its deserved nerf. Easy buff would be . Every kill restores 50% of a random ability... Class/grenade/melee. Getting a kill while critically wounded triggers devour.

You can achieve the overshield with a void fragment so 2 isn't really necessary. Were you not around for the OEM meta? Because it was basically this. I'm a titan and I hated that meta. I tend to use off meta things when they're overpowered unless I'm pushed into a corner so maybe I'm an outlier.

Why? So Bungie can nerf it?
-
So basically make it OEM?

2 RepliesEdited by SaintX: 10/6/2023 9:06:11 PMPoint 2 will get nerfed one eyed did that, mark targets that dmg you, killing the marked target heals you and an overshield. Ppl didn't like it now it sits there only giving you a overshield. Still pretty good on arc titan tho.

Not an instant full health restore, but regen would be very nice.
