Just started raiding this weekend. Couldn’t find any group looking for new raiders so I made one. I was adamant about learning rolls instead of just ad clearing. It was rough. My group was patient and I learned eventually and can now join any LFG even the “KWTD” posts.
Make your own LFG. Don’t just ad clear. Be brave. Learn the activities.
That’s all.

1 ReplyTHIS GUY GETS IT Well done for having balls and going through the pain of learning a raid. Frightens me how many people don't do this and want carried. A new raid should be about 2 hours of painful learning for everyone. Learning all the roles and getting experience. After that it's a breeze Sneaking into a KWTD group with no mic and just killing ads isn't gonna pay off in the long run. Well done again !

Ngl there’s some teaching groups that get through a raid cleaner than KWTD groups. I ran Crota the other day and 3 players didn’t want to touch chalice because they thought it was boring.

I like running sword. Kill boomers and ogres with sword.

I used to have an emblem that said 105 Guided Games, and since that was reset, I use LFG and have taught hundreds and hundreds of people. I can honestly say, those people that are adamant about just doing ad clear are a very rare kind... Almost everyone is eager to be helped, especially when you are eager to teach them. Remember, positivity is contagious! People that say "no I'll just ad clear" though they are ultra rare, you kinda have to respond saying "every other activity is ad clearing so if you choose to do a raid instead, you'll have to learn to contribute". If at that point they still won't learn, it is time they need to leave and let someone else that can't get taught, take their spot. Usually, though by that point ya'll have talked a bit, and you can say, "sucks to suck, here's how you're gonna do this." Lately I been doing King's Fall (or DSC or VOG lately). Just haven't been feeling the other raids. If you find yourself wanting to learn one of those, I'm always a message away 🧡

I appreciate the people that wanna actually learn mechanics instead of just trying their hardest to be on ad duty.

Use discord, D2LFG. They have a sherpa channel, easier and quicker recruitment for teams, plus better cross-platform voice channels.

I can't make LG'S because I purchase all content on a different account, so Bungie thinks I'm one of the paid d2 content carriers.

Good for you man learn all the raids they are all fun in there own way.

Honestly, I don't bother with the "kwtd" posts. Most either want a carry or they themselves don't know much and wanna just ad clear lol. It was a pain for me, but I took 1 day off and just farmed lfg posts. I met some chill ppl that not only helped others but were patient and helpful. It sucked because no game should take this long to group up, or even group with decent human beings lol to run anything. I get everyone's time is valuable, and Want to just clear a raid fast or just get ppl who know what they are doing and not willing to teach. But in my experience, if I don't take a day off and log in at the times I can, I'm pretty much spending 85% of my time just staring at lfg to find that good post. Either way, I'm glad you got what you needed done, this community can be toxic af, but there are chill players as well

I always try to learn how to do every role in any given raid. It's both more fun for me that way, and never hurts when I can pick up the slack for a dead teammate or help newer players.

6 RepliesThis. Someone taking initiative and learning instead of crying about it and blaming everyone else. Raids are the best content in the game and I believe that everyone should get the opportunity to experience them.
-
To be honest, I never made a post, I just join kwtd posts, even my first time doing it. The main thing is to not stress out, and it’s pretty easy.
-
Awesome. Not many do what you have done.

Wow. *golf clap*

This is the way!!! A message to all who are in the same situation as OP before his first run: Be kind, be caring, but rule your own lfg. Don’t be afraid to kick people who don’t match your expectations before starting the activity; be respectful, considerate and careful to those who take their time to help you have fun! With patience you will succeed, make gaming friends, and finally get to what destiny has best to offer.

He expected everyone to teach him when alot of us said we had about a hour to finish the raid. I told him to make his own post and he said it would never work for him. Good to see people actually starting since all raiders started somewhere.

2 RepliesNice job man..the patience is a key factor in every raid group with ppl who dont know what to do.. The most fun part in raids for me is to kwtd in every position..as the weeks pass many have nothing else to do so they have the time to be patient and help some others..I love to do that..but my english are not good enough so can only help ppl from my country.. As you said ..Learn the activities..
