Idk. I find this to probably be more work for coders than it is beneficial. Coding is so complex, it isn't as simple as you pressing backspace on a sentence to delete words out of it. They probably have to rework the code to work with the fact they made so many other changes since then (like dependences). But I'm not Bungie. You CLEARLY have the backing of so many others so, clearly your suggestion is the common feeling among the player base. It is a #1 trending topic for a reason so making excuses not to care, is a Bungie move, so I will now do the opposite. That and I go to Quests to turn in or read bounties. Why the -blam!- was the bounties section made so small, just so that me "New Light" quest that literally has no way to delete, can be in my face as huge as can be, when on my real account I have been playing since January 2015. Not trying to pull the "as a vet...." annoying card, I just mean literally I don't need to see a massive image for a New Light quest many times each time I play, when I have thousands upon thousands of hours played. We often refer to the Quests tab as The Bounty Page because we got to it to swe bounties more often than quests (doing a quest is way more rare).
