Why make trials part of the seasonal requirements?

I get it. I did the challenge. My post in the FEEDBACK section for bungie is “Why make trials part of the seasonal requirements?”
Post doesn’t say “this is super hard guys I can’t do it”

However, nothing about the challenge is a requirement. It's an optional challenge for players to do or not to do. Not doing it doesn't affect your guardian or progress. Doing it only awards some bonus XP and bright dust. So in conclusion bungie have not made trials a seasonal requirement.

Same reason they always slap several Gambit requirements in there. They want you to play their game how they want you to. Not how you want to.

Trials is part of the game. Just because you dont like it/cant do it doesnt mean other people feel the same.

Edited by Hawpy: 10/2/2023 7:28:52 PMIt's a seasonal [i]challenge[/i] and, outside of the ones for progressing the weekly quest, they typically have very little to do with the season's content. I don't see the problem with challenges asking players to go to all areas of the game if they want to complete them all. Strikes, Gambit and Crucible are mainstays. No one has any problems with doing GMs or even Competitive, we've had challenges for doing Raids in the past, why is it just a small amount of Trials that's a problem? You can usually skip 4 or so challenges and still get the big Bright Dust reward, so no individual challenge is actually required for it, nor is it actually a requirement to do [i]any[/i] of them to progress the game/story in some way. If you don't want to play Trials, make up for it by doing a different one.

2 RepliesWhat worlds? PvP has been a part of this game since it came out. It is part of the same world, just because you dont enjoy it doesnt mean other people dont. All the challenges are optional and are not required to complete for anything other than brightdust and the ability to go through the season pass quickly which are both optional (season pass is an optional purchase and you dont jeed to get the bright dust to play the game) Every season recently has had the challenge to win trials rounds and before it was 20 rounds, now its 10. Its easier to complete. You dont see PvP players moaning about having the "worlds cross" when they need to do a GM (another completely optional seasonal challenge) or when they need to do the seasonal storyline (again optional) Destiny is a video game and you do not need to play it in order to continue living meaning the game and everything in it are completely optional this includes the seasonal challenges which do not even require 100% completion to get the bright dust as usually theres at least 2 that are skipable (typically meant to be trials and GM so even new players can finish the challanges and get the brightdust) No one is forcing you to do the challenges but yourself, the challenge isnt difficult and you dont even need to talk to anyone you play with while doing it so quit this bullsh*t about "worlds crossing"

I think the seasonal stuff should be tied to the season. Not pay for the doo-doo expansion for access to trials

I would guess the reasoning to be kinda twofold. The main reason being that some folks actually enjoy PvP (yuck, not this guy lol) and it gives them a opportunity to earn a challenge in a game mode that they enjoy. Secondly because it pads Bungie's game mode participation numbers (engagement metrics) on a spreadsheet. I could be wrong but that'd be my guess at it.

Not required, learn the difference between required and optional. Which indeed all seasonal challenges are optional.

The challenge is not that bad. The real issue is them putting pve best in slots there; this time with bloated perk pool and a need to hit column 2 as well

It’s pretty easy to complete. Also I’m trash at pvp and I can still get it done. If I can do it, so can you. Be positive guardian. I went in solo too.
