Agreed, at this point just get rid of Flawless. How bout just get the specific amount of wins (can be adjusted or increased) then you get the adept. I can be sure, more people will play Trials.

  • Trials can never be about skill in the first place unless bungie makes changes . If you only play blueberries trying to get the loot from the light house . You would never have any scale ,it would be false data. If bungie implemented a ladder system it would be the only way you would know what your level really is . Because KD's means nothing when its padded from easy wins. That just says you played more games and nothing about your skill.

  • That stops trials being about skill. Trials in endgame PvP for people who play PvP and want to test their skill. Making adepts available to every 0.2KD noob on the planet makes adepts worth less than they currently do. Players should not be rewarded or have the chance of good rewards for being bad.

  •
Trials in endgame PvP for people who play PvP and want to test their skill.
That is probably why it gets pve best-in-slots so often.

  • Thats because bungie is stupid. Its still endgame PvP always has been and always will be

  • Okay, I’m just going to point this out but “Stop making trials about skill” then saying “test their own skill” kinda contradicts itself don’t you think?

  • Not really, given bungie originally said how trials was for players who wanted to test their skill to see if they had the skill to go flawless. Its about testing your skill and seeing if youre skilled enough to succed. Players wanting to test their skill in a gamemode thats about being skilled isnt contradictory its actually complimentary. Why would you want to test your skill in something that has nothing to do with skill? If something is about skill then playing it would be a test of skill.

  • No offence my dude, Marathon is coming. That is a game thats gonna be a PvP player's test of skill. Even Bungo says so in their Vidoc. Destinys PvP is a joke at this point with the rampart users of Cronus zen and Xims. Its all about who can cheese better. Trials need more players in the mode. If you're playing for the thrill for it good for you. But some or most people would like their time to be worth it as said by OP.

  • Giving everyone hand outs just means the weapons will have to be bad. Bungie has already said they base nerfs on how good something is compared to how easy it is to use and obtain. All adepts from trials would end up trash killing the gamemode. The chance of a great weapon is half of the drive, the other half is testing your skill. Yes there are people who cheat or use chronos/xim but honestly ive only met a handful and you can just outplay them, adjust to them and improve your own skill. Marathon is supposed to be PvP but no one is interested in it, not me, not the PvP community and nor the PvE community. People enjoy destiny PvP because of the uniquness and marathon will strip it all away.

  • I understand what you mean my dude. Technically I'm not asking a complete handout but to make it more achievable and gave some assurance that I'm not wasting my time. Because in the end I still have to play and get wins to get an adept. For example, I have to get like 10 wins in a card but I kept getting lost after lost on a certain level in my card, so as long I can't complete the wins I can't get the adept and skilled players like you will able gatekeep me from getting my full wins. So as long high skill players like yourself gatekeeping from my win completion, I don't deserve to get it. In the end I still need to earn it. But it's a suggestion is all I'm saying.

Im not high skill, im a 1.11KD who worked his -blam!- off to improve. When i started d2 trials i thought id never get flawless and wanted it to be easier, i got 1 flawless that season right near the end (season 15) and then didnt get another until 2 seasons after. I know the feeling of thinking youll never get to the lighthouse but i never gave up, i kept pushing myself and thinking how i couldve played engagements better, i worked on my builds, i even changed class. I watched people better than me to pick up little tricks and i constantly 1v1 friends (and people who trash talk me in trials just to prove a point) which lets me keep improving and helps them improve in areas. By no means am i high skill, all i am is willing to put the time in to truly improve. Edit: I also solo queue every game i play in trials, someone told me that makes it harder to keep a positive KD but take that how you will.

  • Good for you that you have the drive. I lost that a long time ago especially in video games. Guys like me can't improve anymore due to age and work life. As I said before my friend it's just a suggestion. High chances are Bungo ain't gonna do a thing cause it's an over delivery at this point. I just want the mode to have some middle ground at least.

  • Knowing everything and being able to put it into practice are different, to improve youd need to be able to put what you know into actual gameplay. For example someone could know how they should use a sniper but still not be able to do it, just because you know how to doesnt always mean you can put it into gameplay. Improving would be using what you know and practicing until its something you can do efficiently, typically focusing on 1 thing at a time works best as you could get really skilled with that weapon or movement option or whatever and then move to the next while transfering skills you learnt over if applicable. Everyone can improve if they put the time into finding where they can improve and then how to improve from there.

  • That’s the thing, played since d1 pvp and played quite a bit of d2 pvp, just never could get a hand on it or anything I do what I can and make sure to do it as effectively as I can, never seems to be enough though and trying well, just seem to be unable to get better

  • Well for me i always think i could do better and find ways where i could improve, like thinking how i couldve pushed a fight differently that couldve helped me win, or maybe finding angles that i could use. A good thing is to know the maps inside and out, all corridors and angles if you can. Find weapons that work for each map and make loadouts that can use most types of weapon. Then find ways to push lanes on each map that doesnt make you an easy target, watch people who are better than you and see how they play, dont play like them but incorporate certain parts into your playstyle and adapt them and yourself to work perfectly. I personally constantly look at how i could improve and im always judging how i play to figure out how i could do better next time. I dont know if itll help but ive been doing that for about 2 years now with PvP games and ive seen improvement and ive got my friends to do it and theyve started seeing improvement. Sometimes the best thing to do is take a step back and see it from another angle, another perspective.

  • The thing that is lost on most pvp players that throw out (in one form or another) the same sentiment of "get better" is that some people just cap out at some point on skill. Otherwise why doesn't every person have the same skills as professional athletes that play sports. There's just a level some people either can't reach or don't have the endless amount of hours to spend getting slightly better. High end pvp players enjoy the content. Which equates to maybe the top 5%. Because most others become incredibly frustrated by the lack of rewards and gameplay. Bring crafting to trials weapons. Adepts are still unique, but are simply vanity plates. If someone like myself and others don't truly care about that trophy, so be it. But still allow the same access to the seasonal content of armor and weapons. If trials is so much fun and engaging content, then why does the player pool always fall off a cliff after the first week or two? Eventually weaker players become frustrated and the player pool is reduced to high end players only. Which hate going against each other. Even though that's the thing they protest is the enjoyment in trials.

  • Except athletes work incredebly hard to get to where they are. They put the time and effort in to improve. The belief that a person is capped is what holds those people back from improving, if you think youll never improve then you wont, its psychosomatic. You cant expect to improve if you give up and say well i cant do any better. Theres always ways to get better to improve accuracy, movement, map knowledge, weapon knlowedge, ability knowledge and basic combat knowledge like when/how to push engagements. It isnt that people dont have time because it only takes a couple hours a week of trying to improve slightly, the issue is people dont see massive improvement quickly and then think that they cant improve. Theres no cap to anything except the cap we set ourselves. You wont achieve what you think you cant achieve. Put in the effort and you reap the rewards. People just dont have the dedicarion because its not instant, its not that its impossible its just that people are too lazy.

  • Then why not make every activity as hard as possible. Anything is achievable and everything IS possible. But that's not what quality gaming is about. It's about enjoyment vs. time spent playing. Then by all means force pvp players to grind for hours and hours and hours if they want to raid/nightfall. Give the players a currency that pve mains can spend to skip that they will get by playing harder activities. Forcing pvp mains (the ones gating trials rewards) to have to to go and play unejoyable content for them anytime a quality pvp weapon falls in a raid or nightfall. The tone would be quickly reversed about "just spend more time getting good".

  • For me it’s never simple or anything, I just think “okay so they are infront of me and a bunch are there, go back and regroup with team” I never been the best shot since I could never keep a steady hand and lastly never really motivated to do so, sure sounds like small issues but what am i doing? As I said in another reply to you, I just quit going flawless so why do I need to improve?
