I don’t do it myself, but I see lots of other players using this technique.
Sometimes I find it annoying, sometimes not. Sometimes it turns my bodyshot into a headshot. Sometimes I lose the gunfight because I’m laughing at how silly it looks.
Is it really that helpful? Is it a fun way to play? I think I’d get a headache. 😩

Yeah this seems to be the popular move in order to compensate for bad player positioning and slow reaction time in many shooters since it’s easy to make your opponent miss and win through that instead of outright eliminating them. In Destiny I don’t see it being as effective given how the Range stat works and how the gunplay(target acquisition) and p2p net code function (with hits nowhere near the player registering as body shots even behind cover and body shots counting as easy headshots). I guess that it got popular in D2 because people saw it working elsewhere and without much thought started doing it.
