Bungie, what's with the Failsafe?
Listen, it's been almost a year since our beloved Rasputin died. But I have a question. Why isn't anyone talking about the Failsafe? It's literally ultra-advanced AI from the golden age. Why hasn't it been in the story since the second year of the game?

Just let me put Failsafe in a wristwatch or let ghost bring her in the invisible backpack, I need a semi-psychotic rampant A.I. saying bizarre off-the-wall things while I destroy everything, the added humor was a plus in Red War.

"A golden age AI, and you're just letting it sit there?! What's wrong with you?!" - Asher Mir casual dialogue. This has been a highlighted issue since D2 launched, the only character who ever used Failsafe as she was intended was Asher during an EDZ adventure.

5 RepliesI’d definitely love to see her come back, but the fact she hasn’t had so much as a cameo or lore wink since the year of forsaken, I question if there’s some sort of licensing issue for her that came with the activision split.

By Golden Age Standards Failsafe actually isn’t all that super advanced. It’s pretty difficult to stack up to a mind like Rasputin.

I’m not sure it’s an AI in the same sense as Rasputin. I think she is more akin to Alexa on steroids.
