It's been confirmed internally that a DDOS attack against Bungie has been ongoing since Sunday. \
I have a friend who works there.
So you can stop with all the hate/complaints/threats of quitting and the rest.
Just go play another game for the next few days, and come back on Friday.
Update: Bungie likely made it worse for themselves by admitting the DDOS.
It gives the hackers notoriety and a sense of success, with which they will continue to attempt as many times as they can until they get what they want, or are busted.

3 RepliesI don't care what the issue is. After a week of this bs and the last year with the same constant issues of connection stability nad the excuses they fire our way...Its time to solve the problem. I don't care if its a DDos or something else. WE pay Bungie to play the game they put out and if they can't keep the game live.. why keep paying? I also don't believe this is a DDos. Wouldn't a responsible company have contacted the police by now. This is a larger sized software development company whos business is significantly impacted by this supposed attack. Police involvement should be something that is confirmed.

That’s not my problem… imagine having no money to buy dlc and you ask Bungie to give you one for free… they wouldn’t care…so I don’t care about them being ddosed … players giving money for unplayable game is shame .. destiny 2 is turning into scam

Very few people take what Bungie says at face value anymore, and after years of being lied to I don't blame them.

10 RepliesEdited by TSGN Leviathan: 9/20/2023 1:05:16 PMI am supposed to believe the company that said we were getting triple xp when in reality they throttled it, the company that said they buffed high rate of fire auto rifle damage by 4% and then turns out they put the decimal point in the wrong place so it ended up being 0.04%, the company that blamed activision for the aggressive micro transactions and then made it even worse when activision were long gone, the company that puts politics ahead of creativity, the company that uses a declining social media app to relay important information rather than a more wide-reaching method, the company that thinks it’s acceptable to wear PYJAMAS in the work place, the company that saw a game-breaking glitch and said ‘oh it’s fine, just let it fester for 4 days, nothing could wrong with that’, and then low and behold here we are? I. Think. Not. This company has become incompetence incarnate. Lie after lie and screw up after screw up. So you’ll forgive me if I don’t believe a word they say when they fling their spittle our way.

1 ReplyHave they tried checking their network connection and trying again? Always seems to be what they suggest to us whenever they mess up the servers.

(20yrs experience), they need to fire their admins .....

4 RepliesNo problems until they patched it but now they are getting DDOS? I think Bungie screwed up the patches and don’t want to admit it.
-
2 RepliesWhen the lying and excuses stop from Bungie, then maybe people would chill out more. Transparency and accountability are both traits that usually can be used to describe responsible adults. Since you cannot use these traits to describe the folks that run Bungie, one has to then just live with the fact that it's instead ran by belligerent, lazy, petty and immature children pretending to be adults when it suits them.

5 RepliesYou fail to realize people are mad because of all the money Bungie has, they can't seem to build stuff to prevent this or pay someone who can track down who's doing this? Yeah these people will be hard to find, but I guarantee someone could find them with relative ease. This is also an ongoing thing. Crappy servers is not something a quarter of a trillion dollar company should have. Also why does this never happen to other games/developers. Bungie has all this money but won't use it to protect against stuff like this. This is what people are complaining about.

Edited by Týr-Skadi: 9/23/2023 9:30:40 PMWe know. But cant we still complain then? I also have friends, working on all kinds of places. I still complain. I'm Dutch. We invented complaining. I'd even complain if the game works right. And it's saturday now. So i complain a bit more.

Wait I'm a muti season guilded conquer the game has slowly been getting worse and worse over the season as in server problems. So does that mean they have been getting Ddos attacked for months and months. I literally google Ddos attack and mutiple companies come up that guarantee to stop/prevent these kind of attacks. I have been playing different games for over a month now I pay for my Expansions and I can't play it attack or not. They need to fix this or give people there money back. Today the game is literally unplayable. This isn't just a few times. This is mutiple times over months and months

I honestly don’t care about the why, that’s their problem. They should have the capability to figure this out it’s been a week. If the DDOS attack is the excuse then what’s to prevent that from happening in the future? Why should anyone spend one dime if they can’t get this under control?
-
1 ReplyWell its friday night servers be -blam!- still
-
1 ReplyBro, no disrespect but I can and have overlooked many things in this game since D1, but if we're going to pay money for a live service the MINIMUM expectation from all of us is for Bungie to provide a consistent & stable connection to this game. The whole DDOS reasoning is so far fetch to believe that a multibillion dollar company with heavy server security would even be susceptible to a DDOS attack. But who knows...

It’s Friday, now what do we do, lol..
