In PvP only, right..? Right?
No??
It’s really bizarre how you guys balance this PvE game around your awful PvP.
You’re listening to the wrong people.
You need to start ignoring the PvP crowd or try balancing the game properly.
I know you want everything to “feel the same” (i.e. terrible) across modes, but have you ever asked yourselves if this design philosophy is flawed?
PvP in this game is not competitive, never was, never will be. Not without pre-set loadouts. Balance is not going to happen, so stop sacrificing fun trying to achieve it.
You’ve earned another potato.

They're removing the most fundamental attribute of the synthoceps, but you can reload faster now? Yeah that's cool and all but that really doesn't do anything for my melee, punching builds, nor does it help all of the grave robber weapon loadouts I've been collecting over the years. As for the people saying "yeah, but they're giving extra damage with glaives now." They already HAD extra damage with glaives, until Bungie removed this damage in response to a glitch with Winterbite, then never added it back. This feels like something they could have done with worm god caress instead. (as nobody uses these) They could have made it increase both damage and reload speed with more stacks/melee kills. Lord knows that Wormgod Caress could use something to increase its viability, I don't know anyone who currently uses that. I wish this would have been a change to Wormgod Caress, or even a new exotic rather than taking one of the most fun titan items in the game and removing the main reason I've always used it. The satisfying long-range lunge punches that Synthoceps offered were literally the reason I would always come back to this game after taking a break for 6-8 months. Like I get it, this isn't everyone's favorite exotic, and the lunge range doesn't seem as important to most people as they care more about efficiency and damage. But the lunge range was such a crucial part of this exotic for me, both in PVP and PVE. I personally would have rather taken a damage nerf than them removing the lunge range entirely.

7 Repliesyou buffoon, why the -blam!- do you care about melee range in pve?? this is why titans deserve less
-
7 RepliesIf anything this is good because it means no more accidental melees when trying to bonk
-
You need lunge range… to punch red bars?
-
Synthos are getting a huge buff in pve (work with glaives again plus bonus handling and reload) and you're complaining that you're losing some melee lunge? In pve? It literally doesn't matter.

4 RepliesDestiny will die without PvP. Keep the PvP crowd happy or there will be no destiny
-
The more they balance this "PvE game" around their "awful PvP" the more you realize it's not just a PvE game lol.
-
1 ReplyEdited by livin like larry: 9/15/2023 4:30:13 PMMelee rubber banding and desync is not “fun” and Synthos exacerbated it all (in pvp)
-
PvP “strike” team has no corporate knowledge of the lessons learned in PvP over the last ten years, the big one being: KEEP THE EFFING PVP AND PVE SANDBOXES SEPARATED!!!
-
2 RepliesIt’s getting a damage buff, reload bonus and handling bonus, which is typically more useful
-
9 RepliesIt’s legit going to buff your reload and other things(a buff in pve IMO). Also it’s PVE synthoceps losing extra lunge will change nothing you’re just overreacting.
-
3 RepliesHow much is the extra meter of lunge REALLY helping in PvE that won’t be offset by more reload and handling?
-
4 RepliesI dunno. I think id rather have better handling and reload (and get the glaive boost back again) then an extra meter of lunge range 🤷♂️
-
Save your breath, warlocks have been telling them for years. They'll never split the sandboxes because it's more work.
-
Don’t blame PVP players, blame Bungie for being lazy. We know they can make something behave differently in PVP and PVE but they choose not to 99% of the time.
-
10 RepliesIs it really matters? Anyway titans only use bonk titan or strand in pve
-
I use synths pretty much all the time and I've definitely had moments where I'd much rather not have the extra lunge range in pve. Obviously I have charged melee set to another button, but I honestly don't like using it very much. If anything, the compensation kinda sucks because I don't want better weapon handling for my melee exotic. Should've just granted like a light damage reduction when surrounded or something.

You need to start ignoring the PvP crowd
You must be new. They've been ignoring us for the past 3 years. Finally, they're catching on that the game needs both modes to survive.
-
Would make sense for changes to only apply for specific activities. So PvE changes would be apart from PvP changes.
-
1 Reply
You’ve earned another potato. 🥔
Bungie: Server stability improved by 33%
-
1 Replynot a problem for pve ALL melee range buffs should get removed from the game, you know not hitting a mod thanks to the range buff is terrible , so a welcome change
-
Edited by Eden: 9/15/2023 12:48:29 PMWho is using Synthos in PvE for the extra lunge range? The main reason Synthos are used in PvE is the increased melee and super damage. If you're using throwing hammer (which most people are with Synthos) the lunge distance increase is completely irrelevant.

Edited by WAR: 9/14/2023 11:27:15 PMCuz they're all -blam!- at Bungie headquarter

1 ReplyStop coping. Every Titan only uses synthos in PvE. PvP was riddled with Anteous.
-
Remember D1? Vex nerf, Suros nerf, Shot package perk removal, Truth nerf, Gally nerf, etc., etc. (List could be continued endlessly). This whole concept of "weapons should feel the same in PvE and PvP" was dead on arrival and a constant letdown. In D2 nothing changed...

3 RepliesBungie said a long time ago that they can tune PVE separately from PVP. Bragged about it. They are either liars or lazy.
