To me, one of the most addicting qualities of Destiny is the deep levels of build crafting. That being said, I feel like there are just a few builds that really stand out and are viable for end game content. I love that Bungie has reworked some Exotic armor pieces over the last two seasons, but I think they can do even more.
One of my personal favorite Exotic armor pieces, the Crest of Alpha Lupi, is one such exotic that hasn't had a change since it was introduced. I think Bungie could allow it to synergize with Lumina, kind of like Boots of the Assembler, to give it some additional functionality. Then there is somethings like Mask of the Quiet one, where taking damage could instead build up a meter that could be used for some type of special ability. For example, once the meter is full, the next barricade cast will emit a suppressing blast in front of or around the guardian. This could be great for end game PVE builds for crowd control and anti champion functionality.
These are just a few examples that I came up with brainstorming for five minutes while sitting at my desk. I'm a Titan main so these were just a few options, but I know there are plenty of Hunter and Warlock Exotics that could be reworked or expanded upon in a similar fashion.
I love that Bungie is reworking these Exotics and adding in more support style play, such as a the upcoming healing auto rifles and recent perks like Heal clip, and I hope that they take the time to look into posts such as these.
Let me know what are some other Exotics, for any class, that could be reworked to better the game!

Edited by Donovaneagle: 9/18/2023 7:33:21 PMI like Heal Clip in concept but it needs work. it doesn't work with Ember of Benevolence and the radius in heals over is really small, especially compared to the massive AOE healing that Void Titans can give when they set off volatile. This especially sucks because Void titan can set off a chain of volatile that heals the same amount as heal clip. I love that they're leaning more into support builds but I wish they'd work on it more. It takes so long to activate Heal Clip because you have to wait for the whole animation to play. Its like when they added Cure to the activation of Heat Rises as a replacement for being able to swap regular grenades for healing 'nades. It was way less effective because if someone needed healing you had to run over to them and wait for the Heat Rises animation to play out, so they'd end up dying half the time. If they made the area the healing covered bigger and made it work with Ember of Benevolence then Heal Clip would be actually useful beyond healing the person using it. Also please give us healing related mods Bungie!

5 RepliesTwo words: Blight. Ranger.

13 RepliesI’d say warlocks only have two real remaining stragglers, Apotheosis Veil and Skull of dire Ahamkra. For Apotheosis veil I’d have it decrease the rate of a roaming supers passive drain, as well as decreasing the cost for activation of attacks for every ability slot it could have filled but didn’t need to. For skull I’d bring it back to it pre nerf functionality or just a base damage increase to nova bomb.

I’d say Mask of the Quiet one, Apotheosis Veil, and Blight Ranger should be at the top of their list. I also think the super regen exotics (Skull, Shards of Galanor, Gwishin Vest) need reworks with new functionality. Other ones in need of small buffs are Nighthawk, Sealed Ahamkara Grasps, Triton Vice, Icefall Mantle, Khepri’s Horn, Nothing Manacles, and Ballidose Wrathweavers.

Also tricksleeves. Give it the lucky pants/oathkeepers rework. Another useless exotic is gwisin vest.

Love the knucklehead radar change. Also really like heal clip. Support style play being built more into the weapons is definitely a good thing. It's a good way to get people to be aggressive towards team work in a more micronized way than only through abilities. Things where taking and doing damage builds a meter for abilities are also good because they encourage pacing. Some people do have a problem or it's something that can happen where you just start pressing forward like pvp is an old school vanguard strike so non bmm related things that subconsciously play on time are good. I know for me hunter exotics could play more of a support role over all. But that's only if we don't get all or most of our movement imbalance back.

5 RepliesSealed Ahamkara needs a rework. I'd say that any melee powered or unpowered should reload all equipped weapons and cause Kinetic Tremors on the enemy.
-
4 RepliesOkay, this is a mixed one Icefall mantles Now before anyone says, I just want to say this I believe the over shield should be a aspect, since it’s just another type of void over shield and since stasis titans isn’t that good in most areas, so making it an unstoppable being powered by their will, since that’s stasis’s entire mo and gives them something to build into Now I don’t know what ice mantle should get but just to say

Mask of the quiet one: dealing damage with weapon matching you subclass gives ability energy, while critically wounded, final blow gives additional ability energy and restore health.

1 ReplyMask of the quiet one has not been touched since it’s release 6 years ago. This should be NUMBER 1 on priority exotics to be buffed.

rework exotics: -one-eyed mask -icefall mantle -celestial nighthawk -lucky raspbarry -st0mp-EE5 -the bombardiers -felwinters helm -winters guile -rain of fire reworks: -returned to its original strength but with a catch your FOV when using it is locked at 40 -grants a unique overshield that is twice as strong as normal overshields and can actually stack with other shields -when super energy is full boosts all fire sources within 60 meters of you making them burn 2x hotter turning the flames blue this effect lasts for 30 seconds after using your super also your super is first person -grants 2 grenades when equipped -completely reworked now the movements boosts this exotic granted are now linked to hunters mobility stat the max being 100 mobility = to pre change + 100 mobility.. this exotic instead grants hunters a boss like stomp that consumes both their dodge and melee charge it can be used for offence or defence -grants you an enhanced dodge and an enhanced grenade based off of your equipped subclass, grenade damage also returns dodge charge and dodging grants grenade energy -grants warlocks a poisoned throwing knife regardless of equipped subclass, after dealing melee damage a headshot kill activates the exotic perk this is in addition to its normal function -the stacks now last 2x longer and deal 2x more damage -when equipped grants air dodge regardless of equipped subclass also its handling bonus applies to all special weapons additionally it would be nice to see more hidden synergy between exotic armor and exotic weapons

3 RepliesI really feel like Path of the Burning Step is always just a step off of being really good. They tried to fix it, but that made it worse. Hallowfire Heart is also up there. Both of these exotics look cool and sound like they should be really good, but are mid at best and just bad at worst.
-
1 ReplyJust want them to fix/make the manticore better. It's such a cool gun concept and it works pretty well on the ground; but the flying part is the thing that needs fixing. It turns on even when you slightly lift off the ground, lasts for too long, doesn't let you exit that mode and not to mention how slow and vulnerable you are. If it was up to me I would just make the jump button let you exit the flying mode and make the flying speed a bit faster. It's still a pretty fun gun to use though.

1 ReplyBuild crafting is my favorite thing next to raids in destiny, it's so satisfying coming up with a build and tweaking it and testing it till it's perfected, I would love more exotics that synergized with exotic weapons to further expand build crafting
