Bungie please. This is requested all the time; I love my friends but I have very little social energy and I want to play alone for the most part but, I don’t want to offend my friends who constantly invite me to join them.
Please for the love of dog add the ability to appear offline already? It would not be hard in the least bit plus dmg said you were gonna do it 5 years ago…
Edit: this has made some people inordinately hostile and angry so I’m just gonna have to ignore notifications now. This communities toxicity never ceases to amaze me.

1 ReplyIts easy, set yourself to closed and no body can join. When your friends cant join, they should think (he wants to play alone today)
-
Lock your fireteam and mute notifications on console. Seems pretty straight forward. Then you can say I didn't see your invite without it being a lie.
-
Just tell them you don’t want to play with them.

16 RepliesEdited by Crescendoll_5555: 9/7/2023 3:18:39 AMHere’s some ways you can tell your friends that you don’t want to join them while you wait for bungie to add this. “Hey, I’m just going to play solo tonight and relax.” Or “I don’t have very much social energy lately and I’d like to recharge and play solo. I’ll let you know when I’m ready to squad up again.” Or “I hate you all never invite me again you dregs I don’t even know why you’re on my friends list get out of here.”

The toxicity of this thread only proves its validity. Some people are ridiculous. Its a simple ask.

53 RepliesKind of weird Bungie has a woke emblem for every cause on the planet but doesn't give a F about people with social anxiety who prefer to play solo the majority of the time.

Mr WorldWide over here eyes up guardians

2 RepliesIt does seem the corporate mentality is to force public acknowledgement of clique memberships and by assigning caste level designations. Really the level isn't so much determined by skill level but the ability to have a clique to play with. The higher your level, the more cliquish and friend rich you are. Probably brought on by the mindset of survival in the Seattle metro environment many of Bungie workers reside in real life. The Ninjas are another interesting group. Many strive to join the rank of ninja because of the few of them that do a great job for the community. Some though are obvious narcissist who just want to be tyrannical and seek self adulation proud to show their badge like true tyrants. The overall structure of tier grouping of players is enhanced by Bungie's mandatory doxing of player presence. I'm feeling esoteric so don't take anything personal, I could feel differently any moment.

3 RepliesDMG doesn't even work here anymore lmao. Trying to hold them responsible for something he may or may not have said half a decade ago is hilarious.
-
1 ReplyWhy would your friends be offended by you wanting to spend time alone?
-
Here's a script for you- "Hey guys, I feel like playing solo tonight, maybe next time" Then go about with playing solo. Problem solved.
-
1 ReplyNo offense but you and I play destiny we are popular enough to have people ask us to play with them just play the game
-
6 RepliesNot to be mean, but if the comments are too toxic for you and aren't comfortable just telling friends you wanna play solo; seems like you don't have the proper mental fortitude to handle human interaction.
-
4 RepliesAre your friends rabbits? Will they die if yah don't give them attention? Geezus christ
-
They don't care.
-
2 RepliesIdk what you play on but you can appear offline if you’re on steam, just appear offline on steam.
-
I haven't played with any of my friends so I don't think I can help you with that. I mostly just login to do solo stuff, quests and bounties. And then log off to play either PSO2 NGS or BF2042
-
Turn off your notifications, inside and outside the game. If you can’t be offline be do not disturb. There’s no point to profiles if they are always appearing offline. It means there’s people you are actively avoiding because you haven’t filtered out your friends list. Do that

Never happen Bungie don't care about solo players what so ever . They only care about 6 player raids and build everything around the mechanics for 6 players . They could of added match making to a lot of things but refuse to do so. They want 6 man teams. It will be the decline of destiny as more more players have less time to do the bungie way. There will always be the streamers trying to make a buck off bungie running raids crying for harder difficulty . But they fail miserably of understanding it takes away from the game, using there design platform. And when the dust settles as sales drop off because only 4000 teams even did the day 1 raid . That's not going to pay the salary of 1500 employees.

1 ReplyFeel you man. If you are on ps5 just go to your ps profile and set to hidden or appear offline, done. Hope this helps
-
3 RepliesJust say you are busy at home and couldn’t commit if they ask why you don’t accept invite. I feel this is more for the people that just want to hide how much they play lol
-
Just heads up people if you don't respond to the first 1 or 2 it's quite time

2 RepliesAre these IRL friends? if not who gives a -blam!-
