I’m really trying to “enjoy” Gambit with double points but this chit sucks. Tassi said it best. All it takes is one invade from the other team and the entire game is lost. No matter how far ahead you are, an invader can turn around the entire game. Like Tassi said, that’s too much. You Bungo geniuses don’t play test do you?

1 ReplyI've had plenty of gambit matches where we get invaded we lose motes of die on boss and still pull of the win it's just about not getting frustrated and keep fighting if you win great if you lose who cares just enjoy the ride as no one in anything that involves PvP has a perfect 100% win record. And most importantly the biggest and best piece of advice anyone can ever give you is ITS A GAME HAVE FUN.

Always bank after the first two waves. Doesn’t matter if you are at 14 motes and just need 1. Special and heavy ammo respawns from the chest every wave, so blockers are easy to kill. Also means you can get away with running double special. Use heavy to easily kill the invader (machine guns, tracking rockets, or Leviathan’s breath are all good choices) while also contributing to dps. If you are an arc subclass (Chaos Reach with Geomag, Thundercrash with Falling Star, Gathering Storm with Star Eaters) try to build around being amplified. You’ll get places way faster.

3 RepliesDid Tassi let you know that you can kill the invader instead of hiding in the corner?
-
1 ReplyThere is literally 0 risk to invade and that's the biggest problem
-
1 ReplyI think heavy ammo is the problem with invading. Maybe the invading gets a relic instead of weapons.

Here’s what I’d like to see: an invader carries the whole team’s progress / motes banked and held, when the Invader invades the other team, and if he gets slotted - everything transfers to the invaded team…or…everything is forfeited instantly. The invasions are unchanged in all other respects. Now, that’s a gambit for sure! 🤔 Cheers! 🫡

Gambit is a gamble, ever been gambling? If you really want to play Gambit steal all the kills and motes and be greedy and insane. Use a Hand Cannon or Auto Rifle with a Sniper Rifle and either Xenophage or a Rocket Launcher. The Sniper and Rocket are for Invaders but the Rocket is also ad clear. Run a roaming super for ad clears to for sure get an easy 15 motes but don't use it when the enemy invades, you don't want to give that invader a free Light vs Light triumph. Kill everything and bank motes, use a loadout that can either heal/invis/overshield. Deposit mostly at 10 motes unless you know you can get the 15. If you have 5 motes and your invaded deposit inmediately. Don't be a hero, and let your other doofus's go invade, no sense in wasting Heavy ammo at a high risk. Suggestions of a long time Gambit player and Dredgen.

6 RepliesIt's called "Gambit" BECAUSE there's an invader, how many motes are you willing to risk running around with? Do you want to bank early so you can invade first and stop the enemy from hitting you with 45 motes? Or do you want to see if you can add clear faster than them? Gets even worse when the final boss is out... Do you risk invading and potentially setting back the enemy team, or stick around and just try to melt the boss here and now? Keep in mind, each time you fail an invasion... it's costly, your teams now fighting 3v4 and if the enemy has a good invader, you're twice behind, so you better keep that heavy ammo ready... but do you use it on the boss, or the invader?
No matter how far ahead you are, an invader can turn around the entire game.
A thrilling comeback! Something everyone should love! Or should people call it quits the moment they fall behind? If the game mode didn't have an invader, it wouldn't be gambit, there would be no gambits... all it would be is which team has the more optimized loadout. I think you and Tassi have misunderstood the mode.

“Why is there PvP in my PvPvE gamemode?”
-
3 Replies
an invader can turn around the entire game.
That's sort of the whole point. Otherwise, gambit would just be a race to see who can complete a strike the fastest.
I’m really trying to “enjoy” Gambit
First mistake.

Taking invading out of gambit would make it so much better, change it up with something else.
-
1 ReplyI enjoy killing invaders. It’s my favorite part of Gambit.
-
I love Gambit how it is... sure, it can be a pain in the rear when an invader comes, but I don't think people should hate on the game mode as much as they do. Gambit's pretty cool and unique
-
I love Gambit, because it is not the way you say it is. I have had countless rounds where an enemy invader has totally screwed my team in the first half, only for us to make a wonderful comeback. Other times its neck and neck till the end. Sometimes they invade early and we never get ahead. It isn't unbalanced. Gambit has been so highly tuned over the years that only very few things (like thundercrash's ridiculous primeval damage) could even be considered unfair.

4 RepliesEdited by JazzyPaladin477: 9/5/2023 7:40:42 PMI understand what you mean. A gambit is a bet or a wager, if and invader invades and gets insta killed he has lost nothing, just re-spawn continue banking motes or dps. An invader should have to wager motes or boss health when going through the portal. It should cost 15 motes or 25% boss health to go through the portal, the success of the invasion determines if it was worth it or not. If you invade and don’t get any kills it should -blam!- your own team over.
-
3 RepliesYou mean besides leaving your team shorthanded to go into a 1v4 fight?
-
2 RepliesGambit is a blend of pve and pvp get over it or don’t play it simple.
-
A reduction or removal of invading is something that people have been asking to try in Gambit for a long time. There would have to be some other kind of mechanic to help teams stay even but it would be cool to see something where people were just competing at killing enemies and teams could somehow know how far along they were relative to each other.
-
1 ReplyIt was designed that way, and if it was any other way, it wouldn't work.
-
2 RepliesYourself and Tassi don't understand how to play Gambit. The game was designed that way. Heavy ammo use. Invading. Super use. All need to be used at certain points in the match. If not, yes 1 Invade can change the entire match.
-
5 RepliesEdited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 9/5/2023 3:01:56 PMInvading is the gambit by definition. There is only 3 possible locations they can be. If you are at one and they aren't there it's now 50/50 of knowing exactly where they are. Also you know when people are going to invade, you can see it on the bar... Coordinate teams will send 3 people to sit at the 3 spawns and they'll kill the invader before they can move lol.

Giving them free kills.

A well timed invasion can be a game changer. That's a big part of the game. But equally invaders can be neutralised pretty quick if you know the spawns and watch your radar. The worst thing they did was get rid of the solo queue. Stacked teams in Gambit isn't as much fun and I like Gambit.
