Oversoul essence
Bungie…. Seriously it wouldn’t be a bad thing to increase the drop rate or the amount of the oversoul essence which can drop after raid encounter completions in crotas end which is needed to complete the necro quest.

I had essence of oversoul drop on the first encounter and did reward me progress, teammates had the same issue on the other encounters. I think it’s bugged

5 RepliesConsidering you also need another 35 for the catalyst to complete they definitely need to increase the drop rates for essence. The catalyst also doesn’t progress with kills which sucks too.

Bump ^ the drop rate is most likely bugged right now cuz the drop rate is absolutely -blam!- at the moment and if it isn’t bugged Bungie need to make it guaranteed to drop from every encounter across all chars for all looted clears, And they should also increase the drop rate for non looted clears and make it easier to farm cuz not everyone have the time to play 3 hours + of Destiny 2 everyday cuz of work and school and it’s stupid when you have to farm a heavily rng resource with abysmal drop rate.

The fact they turned the difficulty so high in contest that it forces you to run it with 5 elitests (no lfg/casual players) having no fun or wait and run it an ungodly amount of times for a re-skined osteo striga. Also crotas the most unfriendly raid when it comes to sherpaing so congrats bungie u just messed up all around the board the chalice made the thrall pit way better but should have stopped there and not been involved in the rest of the raid instead they could have come up with a proper way to bring bridges and the rest of the raid up to speed.

Why are people expecting to get this done so fast? Just do the triumphs and run the raid each week. You’ll get it faster than any of the RNG exotics from other raids.

10 RepliesAgree on that, it’s sad cause necro is a great weapon but this clearly shows with this quest the lack of leadership they have and poor design raid is beautiful with visual aspect. the redesign with mechanics is very poor this being carrying the chalice and the laterns in first encounter. the quest is poor design due to having to complete encounters, challenges, and not to mention it more than likely being time gated every week due to lack of essences dropping.

I was honestly hoping for a fun quest to do, where we had to go do something that was indeed fun, but we got this and now I regret not doing the contest mode just to avoid this boring “side quest”

I like it. It incentivizes people to keep playing it in lieu of pinnacles meaning anything anymore
