Contacting Destiny servers/ baboon

Since the start of season of the witch I've been experiencing laggy connections, i thought that it was maybe a problem with my ISP since i only play at night and that's also when most people use the internet. Yesterday I decided to investigate i used windows tool resmon.exe to see my ping in destiny and it was 373ms just sitting in orbit without anyone on my fireteam, there's the issue but how do i fix it? Well i did all the common stuff checked my internet cable, did a router reboot, checked for updates to lan drivers and the problem was the same. Until i decided to use a VPN and guess what ping dropped to 187ms. I believe this to be some sort of routing issue. Im from Portugal and the ISP i use is MEO in case it matters. If you are having the same issues pls comment down below so bungie See's this problem

  • Also in Portugal using MEO network, there aren’t any major error codes but constantly getting Contacting Destiny Server. Was okay before the new season dropped. Now it shows up every >10 mins. Also very laggy

  • +1 with the same problem, ISP MEO from Portugal and I've 5 clan members have the same issue, all MEO clients.

  • The problem is not MEO I use MEO for 2 years never ever have this problem since Season of the Witch is game servers as been a shitshow poor connection, error codes and a multi bilionaire company can't patch this

      I'm also from Portugal and my ISP is MEO too. When the last update dropped i also had this problem, tried restarting my router which didn't fix the problem so i used a vpn which worked fine during that night, next day tho game worked perfectly normal without any errors or connection issues. Please help!!!

    • Same thing here, from Portugal; using the ISP MEO and with a VPN works fine, without its just a feast of errors every 5m. Also opened a MEO forum tread: https://forum.meo.pt/internet-fixa-e-movel-11/problemas-de-acesso-ao-jogo-destiny-2-158785 This is not normal.

      I'm also from Portugal and my ISP is NOS the day the update dropped i also had this problem, only thing i tried was restarting my router which didn't fix the problem so i used a vpn which worked fine during that night, next day tho game worked perfectly normal without any errors or connection issues, sorry i cant be more helpful i saw on some other posts ppl saying using the epic games version of the game fixed it for them so give that a try

    • From South Africa and having the exact same issue, as well as a clan mate. We thought it was our ISP since we are both using Mweb fibre. Please resolve this or provide a fix

      having the same problem. cant even change weapons sometimes, always getting contacting. Tried eveeything still happening

    • Oh god, i thought it was something with my pc or something. Glad to know that i'm not the only one. As for my ISP, i'm also using MEO. Hope bungie can find a solution towards it before the raid race

      Same problem, Portugal MEO. Constant "contacting servers" and disconnects At the moment cant even get into orbit after choosing my guardian, gives a weasel code almost immediately.

    • I'm also in Portugal, playing from an Xbox Series X and I have the exact same issues. My ISP is the same as yours. I just gave up playing the game in the current state and tomorrow Starfield starts so...
