EVERY time I load in, someone runs up and immediately dunks a Powerful offering, not knowing what the team is capable of. 7/10 times it's too much for at least one member (often the one who placed the offering) and it's either a long, hard slog or a total failure. Then guardians abandon the activity and any time you think you're saving by maxing out from the beginning is lost.
At least for the first round, consider placing a Robust offering and see how it goes from there?

Some people just drastically overestimate themselves and blame others when it goes poorly. For the ones this week it’s like ok can you survive without any health regen and still do the objectives 100% on your own? No? Ok probably don’t pick the hardest difficulty then

Worst game mode. Ad density is ridiculous where you can't even heal with picking up the light. You try and run over to it..you get killed....horrible horrible design..I want to play challenge hard modes...not impossible cause you get paired up with someone who has no gear...really not thought out..

Edited by Griever: 8/25/2023 11:01:14 PMThe main problem is most don't even play the objective. More often than not, I'm the only one punching crystals or whatever, and thanks to attrition, you're spending quite a bit of time dead. Activities like this and Deep Dive are proof enough they don't play their own game. God forbid this season's quest exotic is tied to that 4th podium because then, like DD, you'll get people with conflicting interests: Exotic, yes, randoms have gotten mad with me for choosing DD rewards over helping them get Wicked Implement, as if I'm going to screw myself out of loot for A CHANCE the team is good enough to get the exotic I already have with the catalyst, which is the only reward because they're too lazy or stubborn to use LFG. Highest tier loot Just there for any rewards at all Definitely fun, Bungie. This season was already off to a bad start imo, now we get an even worse activity than DDs.

2 RepliesEdited by Scratch: 8/25/2023 2:12:29 PMNot the players fault, Bungie's bad design. Here's an Idea: make 3 launch nodes pick node corresponding to difficulty YOU want. get matchmade with like-minded players ONLY. ❤️ C'mon B, think, it ain't that hard!

I love when randoms pick the Tier 3, spend the entire time getting 1 shot by everything or not doing any of the mechanics and then they get mad at you because I guess they felt like you should've been able to hard carry them or something? Is it so hard to just start at tier 1 or 2 so you can get a feel for how each other plays and once you got a good thing going then go for the tier 3s all day?
-
Go hard or go to orbit. 🤜

1 ReplyI’ve changed my loadout and gotten it done every time with randoms last night. Sure we died a lot but the time to get it done is extremely forgiving. Wish ender, a blinding GL, and a linear/mg. And I literally had no problem except for invis screebs ruining my day. For the 6 powerful I did I have no complaints in terms of it being too hard.
-
4 RepliesYeah that is true, it actually can be defined with 4 letters, that being Hell because the bosses at Tier 3 do more damage than most raid bosses in the whole game
-
Tier 3 isn’t even hard
-
3 RepliesI'll start with what i like. More times than not i've been able to do 2/3-3/4 of the events done at tier 3. If the randoms can't hang and we fail that is ok. Even if we fail every wave, that is ok too. Matchmaking is chaotic my nature and im all for it. I'm playing for me, not the random people. If i wanted to get a perfect score every time I'd just jump in with a fireteam of clan mates. But i like the randomness of not knowing if we will clear the round or not more than the loot. IMO there is is nothing more boring than knowing you are going to win.
-
Yeah but on the flip side, you have officer doofy that immediately runs and shoves the lowest tier in like im not just going to orb out and get someone who isn't going to waste my time lol.
-
I hear you... In order to complete the event as fast as possible you need to finish 1 robust and 2 powerful... So it makes perfect sense to start with a robust offering to gauge the teams capabilities
-
3 RepliesI didn’t realize the rando me and my friend got did a tier 3 so I ran all the way up and the shriekers farmed me like 15 times in a row. I gave up respawning 😭
-
1 ReplyMaybe cause it’s not hard
-
well for me it’s 9/10 fails lol

3 RepliesBungie should have designed the Altars activity differently. It would have benefitted everyone if access to an increase in levels was released over a period of 3 or more weeks. Then players would become familiar with the mechanics and decide if a higher level is within their capabilities.
-
Maybe if people actually helped in the then I'll continously dunk tier 3s
-
This morning played with a couple who clearly had no idea what to do either. Just makes it impossible..
-
I quickly realized that it’s just like deep dive, completely pointless to do via random matchmaking.
-
Similar to the Deep Dive activity. Randoms with different agendas, abilities, and familiarity of the event, trying to do a match making activity. Hard to believe nobody at Bungie saw this coming. Would have at least been better if the difficulty selection came prior to the matchmaking. Grouping together guardians with similar goals.
