It effectively destroys one build stat. It doesn't matter if you can't run into piles of enemies who are nuking you. Just be rid of it already!

Attrition really is a pain lol, given the enemy density and that other one which makes them hard to stun 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀😆 Crazy, hope next week is better coz I’m really enjoying the activity (not you jumping but).

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 8/25/2023 9:31:18 PMI just feel like…..ok Bungie. You win. I won’t play this activity. It feels less like a modifier and more like a trollishly debilitating handicap that’s just…. SO unnecessary.
-
100% agree!
-
2 RepliesAttrition plus chill touch is so oppressive. It forces slow passive gameplay instead of fast paced high energy fun gameplay.
-
3 RepliesFor real, it makes playing the new seasonal activity not fun at all. Please stop using this modifier Bungie… plz.
-
4 RepliesRunning with both the hammer titan and combo arc hunter healing is no issue

Self healing = easy to do
-
6 RepliesYou have 1 million ways to heal yourself in this casual game. GIT. GOOD.

4 RepliesEdited by Griever: 8/25/2023 1:11:31 AMIt wouldn't be so bad if they would stop capping our LL to increase difficulty on top of buffing the enemy. Pick one or the other, Bungie, either set us all at a specific level and buff enemies from there without modifiers, OR let us actually fight at our full potential and buff the enemy with modifiers (good and bad) for both sides. You're not making the game harder so much as you are removing the incentive to grind what's supposed to make it easier on the best of days and just going overboard on player handicaps and enemy buffs at worst. Light levels should make a difference in everything. Enemies shouldn't be getting buffed if we're already handicapped by our 1830 LL being no different than 1805, and we shouldn't be getting nerfed if we're already capped. Think back to Halo and just add increasing player power to the mix of more enemies who are higher rank, more accurate, shoot faster, and do more damage. Cap us and only buff the enemy like you did in Halo. Or don't cap us, go and buff the enemy, then add modifiers. At least 1 positive modifier should be active at all times in these modes besides surges and overcharged weapons. Don't cap us, then nerf us, then buff the enemy. That's not difficulty, that's a lazy approach to creating an artificial challenge with no grind, which was not improved btw, it should be one or the other, not this.

It's pretty easy to have a build that completely negates the modifier. Just off the top of my head we got: Devour Restoration Better Already Combination blow. Healing Rifts Banner of War Not to mention multiple exotic armors & weapons that help with healing in some regard..

1 ReplyIt is very annoying. But aren’t all the negative modifiers? Kinda the point of a negative modifier.
-
I think the biggest problem with Attrition is the fact it imposes an almost impossible delay for recovery. It’s one thing if you regenerate more slowly, but to also make the delay nearly impossible to overcome makes it too punishing. Also, picking up the little wells of light should grant a buff on a timer, not a one time shot. I also think it was a horrible idea to make it a modifier the first week and I hope that’s not a permanent activity modifier.

it’s annoying but chill touch is way more annoying tbh

The class or boot mod that activates health regen on picking up orbs is very useful for this

1 ReplyEdited by Senuna: 8/25/2023 2:07:32 PMI know this isn't what anyone wants to hear, but just wait until next week. The modifiers will change, it won't suck so hard anymore. Or, alternatively, you could farm cards until you get the one where killing things gives you health. The difference between doing the altars of summoning without a deck of whatever and with is night and day. (Edit: if it wasn't clear from the past few seasons, Bungie's initial launch of everything seems to have a design philosophy of making it more difficult on drop than later on down the line. Contest mode (ignore RoN), the week the Wicked Implement dropped (stasis melees), Avalon (Legend) (holy sweet tentacles of C'thulu that was insane).)

I run my wellock with those boots of the assembler! I also run lumina most of the time. Gotta heal my teammates for the dub.

Been using a strand hunter build. Create a tangle, shoot it for the spinny Naruto thing and hide like a big girls blouse. I also steal as many tangles as possible and get 2 or 3 of those things bay blading around. Hunter shadow clone can also get you out of a pinch.

4 RepliesThe most chance of getting them is either multi kills, chances to make orbs or abilities, fun fact, I don’t make a lot of orbs cause I don’t use complicated builds
-
1 ReplyMy solar Titan doesn't have to worry about attrition thank god.
-
1 ReplyAttrition even killed 1 solar fragment:Tempering.I cannot recover life..Bug or what?Even with the fragment that exends the buffs.I cannot recover life.
-
11 Repliesjust kill the mobs for your free 300 recovery? kinda simple

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
Agree, although it has saved me plenty of times , so I guess it has its benefits -
1 ReplyBanner of War has been GORGEOUS against Attrition
-
Meh… 🤷🏼♂️ My build negates this modifier entirely 😂

I’ve seen some absolutely broken builds, basically impossible to die. It seems buildcrafting is the best solution here. I’m ok with the modifier as long as it’s not overused and in every activity
