Orbs are terrible in every way, but the most obvious complaint: it feels bad to stop shooting guns and wreaking havoc with abilities to pick up a blob and throw it awkwardly with the worst trajectory I've ever seen.
Please don't make orbs the new thing.
Also, I don't know a single person who enjoyed throwing snowballs, tangles or Warmind cells, and the Ruinous Effigy isn't used outside of patrol - so I have to ask: who thought this was a good idea?
In conclusion- please stop with the orbs that get picked up. Artifact mods should be fun and powerful. They should not litter the ground with pointless blobs that I accidentally pick up instead of reloading.

Honestly I never use the discounted armor mods. Otherwise when the season is over I have to remake all the mods on my builds since the costs go back up. But that’s just me though

The Tithing activity is crazy on all tiers, it doesn't feel much different between each offering difficulty, just more or less big yellow bars that never die and instantly kill you, but there is waaaay too much going on already, trying to deal with everything in a tiny arena. Though glaives are apparently the ultimate weapon for this activity😂, and sword Titan with Stronghold is solid for revives and whatnot. Its also kind of dumb because they removed elemental wells, but here we are with elemental orbs now, though it is a different functionality, but I didn't bother with War Mind cells either. They just need to stop cramming everything with as much sh*t as possible. Our goal is to kill stuff, that's it, and with enemy concentrations as they are, anything, like orbs need to be passive buffs or abilities. Having to activate and grab stuff is just incredibly distracting and makes the experience way worse. Its already hard enough to focus on mechanics while getting nuked every two seconds at 100 Resilience with overshields, while trying to keep tabs on teammates in case of revives, and then prioritizing targets like those damn Shriekers that had no business getting seeking, infinitely firing nonsense in the first place, and now we're getting groups of them, with groups of near boss level Wyverns. If they want to give us things like this then they need to thin out their enemy groups so its feasible to use them, or just let us shoot them, blow them up, etc. Though I'm fine without them. We can pass over those, as I plan to do, but this era of [i]"How do we make all games as completely ADHD as possible"[/i] is f*cking stupid and just kind of I hate everyone for adapting it😂, because it feels more and more like its becoming harder to get around that and just have a straightforward experience. People think its a player problem. No the developer is just putting too much bullsh*t into the game that doesn't need to exist. There's no reason to make it so convoluted. I'm sure some do enjoy them, and it is a way of adding a different playstyle, but their game is just not built for that kind of stuff. Its too heavy for it.

if we could just shoot them like tangles (or explode from other aoe damage) they would be kinda great. but in higher tier content they just feel to weak to use. the whole, pickup and throw progress is kinda slow and could be deadly to you... not like the orbs, which are not deadly in that content anymore xD

I enjoy them, but I also think we should be able to shoot them for the effects as well.

The trajectory is awful I agree there but the orbs are fun to use and throw and do decent dps. It doesn’t hit like a truck but it doesn’t need to. Also a lot of people have enjoyed throwing snowballs warmind cells etc. I have seen ruinous effigy used everywhere except gms and do good. Hilarious how bungie wanted to do something different with artifacts and get met with this. I thought we wanted new stuff not the same old crap every season. You’re also not forced to use them, use something else. Crazy concept.

I agree. I use them because they do work, but they never really go where you intend and they interfere with other things you might need to do (like revive a guardian or carry a solar fragment thingie). I am not a fan of the throwing mechanic at all.

Every season Destiny 2 gets worse than the one before it. Obviously, the addition of elemental orbs everywhere you look proves this point. In playing crucible this week, instead of interacting with the rift pickup on screen instead I think there was an orb in my way. With the only discounted mods this season based around scavenging ammo supplies, it's gotten to the point where the cost of the mods is all too much. When deciding on the mods to use, there isn't enough space to help either yourself or your teammates anymore.

3 RepliesThe lack of discounted mods is definitely annoying this season. I seem to have a space I can't use on a couple of pieces of armour in every build as I can't afford to fit them in. What with resilience , recovery, and intellect all costing 4 now its harsh this season.

What's worse is that they don't stand out amongst the chaos, cannot be created on ability final blows like tangles or destroyed with weapons or AoE. They then decided to not only give us one authorized mod that discounts something that is only beneficial and works in PvE, but give us THREE combo orb gen helm mods that cost 3 energy to slot. I'd take the discounted ones, take up two slots at that point over using one slot and losing an energy point as having more energy cost to spend on something expensive to slot along side a discounted mod is way more freedom in buildcrafting for me than what is offered right now.
