No new subclass is a big fail
No new subclass is a big fail. Rhulk taunts us with it through all of VotD raid and for us not to get one at the end of the light and darkness saga is a big let down.

Meh. I barely use stasis or strand as it is. It's fine.

It's been pulled to put in the 2026 vex expansion, after 2025s year off. I guess a way to get people back coz they'll lose lots with no expansion

We don't know that we aren't getting one at the end of the Light and Dark Saga. That saga doesn't end until we kill the Witness in the Final Shape raid. They might save the new dark subclass for the season...I mean episode... that follows Final Shape (we get something from the Witness that teaches us something about the final subclass).

7 RepliesBungie did say previously they'd add more. Just keep playing until it happens. I care more about a good campaign. If the Final Shape campaign is as trash as Lightfall Season of Defiance then I refuse to keep paying Bungie $100+ to play.

2 RepliesI saw in a leak that there was going to be a new subclass, maybe bungie is saving that for a surprise reveal, but according to the leak the subclass name was [b]Splinter[/b], the leak also mentioned a lot of the stuff that they revealed in the showcase so that kinda makes me think they will bring a new subclass in FS.

I swear to the heavens players like you are just never happy and will whine about EVERYTHING. We're getting a huge DLC with an evolving sandbox and you're just whining about a subclass. I bet if a subclass had been announced, you would have whined about how the new location looks boring or something.

Edited by Sohsuh: 8/24/2023 12:55:30 AMI disagree with this big time. This might be a hot take, but Strand is boring AF. I hate using strand. Suspending enemies wow boring. I would have much preferred new light supers over strand. I don't care to suspend enemies or send NON THREATENING little green needles at enemies that do 3 damage each to a red bar thrall. I want explosions. I want damage. I want destruction. The new arc hunter super looks devastating. The Titan throwing axes and exploding with teammates able to grab the axes after? Sign me up. The warlock able to shoot multiple projectiles at once and have them grow more and more powerful as they destroy enemies? Hell yes! Strand is slow and boring and Bungie would most likely make another boring subclass, so with more light supers they are going full offensive again which is great. Strand and stasis are about controlling the enemy, where the light is about destroying the enemy, which is 100x more fun.

Would rather skip a new subclass than have a subclass tutorial masquerade as a campaign again.

They will have one, this is the end of the light/dark saga, it wouldn't make sense not to.

I can't switch to my PC and have Stasis or Strand because I didn't buy 2 copies of the same DLC. If Bungie can't do better than that, then it's good that there isn't a new subclass.

I think it’ll be hidden till the end of the story. We know it is red triangle themed as it was leaked at the end of a transmat trailer. Either nightmare or SIVA

2 RepliesWe have had one new subclass during the Lightfall expansion. That is in line with how they have done things since Beyond Light. Beyond Light Expansion: Stasis. Other three seasons with the BL didn’t have new subclass. WQ Expansion: rework all light subclasses to 3.0. No new subclasses, only a rework of what we already had. Lightfall Expansion: Strand. The other three seasons with the LF expansion won’t have a new subclasses. Just updates to strand, or light 3.0. Finale Shape Expansion: will have the last darkness subclass. It’s the last expansion within the Light and Dark Saga. It would probably take away from that expansion if we got the last dark subclass early. They will use the last three seasons to tweak that subclass and get ready for anything that happens after Light and Dark saga.

1 ReplyIDK how I feel about this. When Bungie announced the final expansions to finish the Light vs. Dark saga - I expected by the end of it to have 3 light sub-classes & 3 dark sub-classes. On the other hand, how badly Strand was releases & integrated into the Lightfall campaign was a disaster. At the end of the day I think Bungie is just trying to make the last few seasons of Year 6 look like they're re-investing into the franchise & for The Final Shape to be a safe win to avoid putting up Ls for the entirety of S17 - S24.
