Let players level up a season pass after the season is over
Dear Bungie
I really like playing your game. I really do.
But some design practices are just so predatory and are really souring me on Destiny. Every time life happens and I have less time to play the game I come back and see that I don't have enough time to finish up all the ranks in the season pass locking me out from the ornaments that are relegated to the highest ranks.
As soon as the season ends players lose every opportunity to earn the items they purchased? The only way to 'unlock' them before the season ends is to pay more money on top of the season pass?
- Let players finish previous season passes even if the season is done.
- Let players purchase previous season passes they missed out on to earn cosmetics they like while leveling.
- Keep the button to buy levels for people that want to do so and prefer a monetary investment compared to a time investment, but don't make it mandatory to finish a season in a certain timeframe before the cosmetics are locked out.

Seriously. Why not? This is one of those things that only has two possible effects: makes the game more fun for some and doesn’t affect anyone else at all.

So you want to get cosmetic items for a game, without playing said game? Why?

Not a lot of games do this but I don’t see an issue with it, nor does it effect anybody at all. Should be a kiosk in the helm letting you toggle it either once you’ve finished the current season or anytime.

1 ReplyAs someone that usually ‘completes’ the season pass in the first half of the season I would happily support your suggestion. It wouldn’t negatively affect me but would help others, seems like a good thing to me. Sadly being able to complete season passes later would likely impact sales of season pass levels (which are an expensive option) so I can’t see Bungie ever offering this.

One of the reasons iv not played for a while even if your a deluxe owner but decide not to play for a while you cannot level up previous season passes when you start playing again ,3 seasons since lightfall I think iv not played so lost 3 seasons worth of gear I payed for just because iv not played wouldn't be so bad if you could atleast get the ornaments from the pass you've payed for

they cant do that. then you wouldn't be wasting your resonant thingies because you cant find enough weapons worth using them on.

6 RepliesThis is why I don't buy season passes in any game anymore. The only exception being if that game keeps me interested long enough to finish the pass without having to grind it, and only once I finish it, will the dev get my money. I don't do the FOMO thing anymore.

THIS i was literally just saying this. like we should be able to take a break without having to worry about something we spent money on just being taken away. Especially if its as inconsequential as cosmetics.

Halo is the only game doing season passes right (if they still have them). I agree with op but I gotta be honest…this season’s is awful. I’ll hit rank 30 not care about the rest.

1 ReplyHalo infinite may have gotten quite a bit wrong but the one thing they did absolutely right was their battle pass system that allowed you to not only purchase past passes but also level up any of the past passes you owned so you never missed out on any rewards. Bungie will never adopt this pro consumer practice because they are to filled by fomo and greed.

I second this notion. Common bungie, you can make more money off the the people who are new. Think about all the season passes these people did not buy.....yet.

I've missed out on rewards from previous seasons where i've not had the time to complete the passes, sure would be nice to be able to go back and finish earning all the rewards.
