😂😂😂. I hope most have learned what Bungie "delivery" is. I haven't gotten excited about anything for a few years and man has it saved alot of headache.

I still don't know how I feel about this one. I'll need to put it to use and then make a decision. I hope it's not a random drop from one of the playlists though. I how they make a mission with a guaranteed drop out of it. Still wish it was a catalyst for thorn though

First thought?: I don’t like melee weapons… I’m sure it’ll look and feel cool but why the insistence on melees in a game like destiny? What’s the fantasy outside of throwing knifes/hammers or the solar warlock ones launching a flaming projectile

Well, there is a video of how it works, so if anyone sets their expectations too high, they kind of deserve the disappointment. And yes, "too high" includes working properly. I'm expecting hit registration problems, and either weak damage or nerfs over time. This is Bungie after all.

Some FYIs for everyone: - In the clip, the user performs an alternate Fire action (like swapping between Cerberus or Grand Overture modes) - The damage from the bayonet is very very high and will likely not be stackable with melee exotics (and if it is then the armor will probably be disabled until fixed) - Due to the above, I’d probably be willing to bet that there is a meter tied to at least the extra damage of the melee if not the melee itself. (I’m hoping for just being a damage bonus and not the Glaive-melee function).

I dont understand, what are you hearing people say they expect it to do ? It's bayonet, I expect it to stab things. If it does anything else I'll be pleasantly surprised, or incredibly confused.

The devs clearly were not going to release an [i]Always-On[/i] Catalyst that replaces all non-powered melee attacks with a bayonet attack that features a significant damage bonus (out of concern for PvP balance if nothing else), especially not anything remotely close to the numbers shown in the video. In the video the user’s basic non-powered melee deals 7,534 damage, compared with [b]116,019[/b] damage dealt by the bayonet attack. I dare say it’s reasonable for the devs to expect player’s to have to build up some sort of meter to activate a 15.39x damage boost. [i]Edit: We should also go in with the expectation that this Bayonet attack will have zero stackability with any Exotics that boost melee damage.[/i] (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
