please can we have solo versions of dungeons/raids?

yeah i know but bear with me. i'm a long playing mainly solo player. I've never done a raid and only a few dungeons. I would love to explore those worlds and challenges but its difficult to spend the hours needed in a raid session for me. it would be great if there was a solo doable version that could be done at my own pace. Obviously the rewards/drops would be less. as most players are mainly solo it would open up more excitement and entertainment for the community.

  • Root of Nightmare is a raid that can be solo ran flawlessly and Vault of Glass recently got cleared solo. So some raids can be done solo just the skill required is high

        • Every time a new dungeon releases I run it solo for the first time, to get a hang of the mechanics. Dungeons aren’t that hard to solo, promise.

              • I have to disagree Raids and dungeons are endgame activities that are specifically designed for team cooperation, with leeway in dungeons whereas you can solo them at your own pace. This functionality has been the staple of what has made Destiny, Destiny. Finding a team isn’t all that challenging anymore, and spending hours on end in a raid is by choice- most raid teams that I’ve played with can finish in under an hour Play the whole game, get all the rewards

              • dungeons are for solo players, raids are raids for a reason not for solo players , and wdym hours? no raid inside d2 take more than 1 hour

                • "hours" in a raid session... it can happen, but spending hours is not the norm. The time spent in a raid gets shorter the more you raid. Join a teaching lfg for one of the older raids.. VoG and Kingsfall are a good place to start. Once you finish your first raid, it gets easier.

                  Dungeons can be soloed because their mechanics don't require more than one player to be involved at any given time. As for Raids, that's never going to happen. Of course, some Raids and encounters [i]have[/i] been soloed through the use of specific exploits and whatnot, but to make it possible for the average player would require a complete rework of the activity from top to bottom. Limiting who can see pieces of information and needing to communicate that is a common element, as is players needing to do things simultaneously. Almost every encounter would be simplified to just killing enemies, and bosses would just stand there until you shoot them to death without any mechanics. That wouldn't warrant giving any Raid rewards because what you'd be doing is so far removed from being a Raid that it's no longer the activity you originally sought to do. I'm all for activities that use the Raid environments - Preservation is the obvious one in D2, while D1 had some missions that went into Vault of Glass - but let's not kid ourselves into thinking that these are the same as Raids and deserve to be rewarded similarly.

                  Dungeons are solo raids The mechanics are designed to not require more than one player , the rest is just down to add control and survivability

Savathun throne world has a mission like that. Dungeons? 1 to 3 man activity. Unless you mean make it easier to solo.

                  • Well dungeons can already be soloed and as long as you aren’t worried about triumphs then you can easily utilize the checkpoints. As far as raids go that’ll never happen because they have always been and will always be six player activities.
