The chill clip nerf will disproportionately hurt Gls and Rockets more than fusions

I get this nerf is most targeted towards fusion, which are the most abundant chill clip weapons, but there are currently 4 weapons that can roll with it. Rockets, heavy gls, lightweight gls, and fusions, of with 3, will be severely hurt by this change, and 1 will be inconvenienced. As is, Rockets and heavy gls are handicapped by the ammo economy, plus they require direct hits to proc. Then, special gls and Rockets typically only hold 1 in the mag, making a reload required to freeze a target. So please only target fusions (and shotgun or snipers if they get it in the future)

  • Notice how Chill Clip and Suspend get nerfed because of Champs... its almost like Champs should be removed.

  • Chill clip has no purpose on a rocket unless you u got somebody with ghorn. Now that that's getting shafted everybody's crafted bump in the night is trash.

      special gl yeah, rocket nah using chill clip rocket is actually trolling if you are alone , in a dungeon/raid team bait and switch is 100x

        • Terrible perk on rockets anyway. Also useless on gls as most ads die before it procs.

          • Perhaps heavy rockets or grenade launchers should apply more slow stacks than fusions. They have rarer and nore powerful ammo, so it would make sense if rockets could freeze with a direct hit and heavy gls in 2 hits. For special gls, this would probably be more difficult to balance.

              This was a nerf no one was asking for or wanted. And really didn't need to happen imo. Lingering dread just became boring. And it's already low use for heavy gl/rl became garbage tier. I want this perk removed from the game now. Dead perk.

                  Wish they’d tune it, so that Rockets and GLs were unaffected. This change basically made chill clip completely useless on those weapons. It was only being used for niche damage strategies on rockets but now even that one benefit is gone.

                • I still don't understand why they're nerfing it. The champion mod system is already overwhelmingly constricting, needs a complete rework, and now they decide they want to nerf chill clip. The thousands of weapon, armor, perk, mod combinations in this game and we're limited to using specific combos to stop champions. It's ridiculous.

                  • I think the main thrust of this nerf was to stop rapid fire chill clip fusions (riptide) from stunlocking barriers. Now you can’t get the freeze off before the shield goes up. However there should definitely be a system which balances slow stacks per weapon (rockets and GLs can apply more slow without breaking the game)

                    It's not really justified on anything, chill clip comes as a result that stasis special does 15% less than ordinary kinetic on its slot stasis is meant to gain access to good perk pool from the beginning. if anything, they should fix the strand perks, they are utter trash that can't justify the damage disadvantage, not even on primary

                    This will significantly hurt riptide when it comes to barrier champs - as is intended. It won't matter much for unstoppables and not at all for overloads. GLs will behave the same against overloads (iE terrible if the champ can teleport), a little worse against unstoppables (unstops are walkovers anyway - any miniboss/ultra is tougher to face). They'll both likely not perform against barriers as they'll shield before getting frozen now. This is a change towards chillclip not being stupid dominant on all champion types and is warranted (regarding champions). Edit: For normal opponents like minibosses the fusions will lose the ability to cast 2 freezes without reloading (unless overflowed), while both weapon types need 50% more ammo in order to freeze something.                       I only like it on fusions. I use a Riptide, Burden of Guilt and a crafted Deliverance regularly and think they’ll all be fine.

                      • You're not wrong... there's some mitigators, except you have to give up auto-loading as a tradoff in favor of overflow perks, reserve perks Still, you're correct... this is about 1 weapon in the game, maybe they should have targeted it directly.
