Hello,
6 years and 27 days ago, my friends and I founded a clan called "Itchy Cabal Syndrome". We were going into D2 soon, the Cabal were gonna blow up the tower, and wanted a clan name that would get a chuckle, but without being obscene or explicit.
Yesterday, over 6 years after the clan was founded, I got a notification from Bungie that the clan received a "Group/Clan Profile Warning Violation" of the "Gory Violence/Explicit -blam!-" clause of the code of conduct. The description field just said that we were a closed clan and we require a referral from an existing member, and the motto was "we are the cure for your itch".
Nothing that in my view was anywhere near being explicit -blam!-, or gory violence. My friends and I are a little heart broken that the pun that was fine for 6 years is suddenly not, but in addition I don't want to rename the clan to something that would again violate the code of conduct. Is there any appeals process, or other way to ask for clarification on why that specific name would have violated the CoC?
Thanks!

Your clan name/motto was an inference to a -blam!-….but you don’t see that as s_xual? Are you blind?

And you think sidestepping the filter means it's acceptable?

People all over this community have used “Cabals” to mean, well, “balls”. So it’s no surprise that using that name was seen as breaking the Code of Conduct. Bungie reviews and acts on every report themselves, if you received a warning or had your clan name changed then Bungie themselves had found something they didn’t like with the name.
