No activity in the game, no matter the "difficulty", should ever be so hard that it basically requires some sort of bug or exploit that the player can use in order to win. These need to be heavily tuned down, or better yet, straight-up removed from nightfall playlists. They are fun missions to do on legend with their unique design, but these missions on GM are not acceptable the way they are.
People can -blam!- and complain all they want, but when there are so many adds (infinite during some objectives) that are high-ranked, have explosives that never have to reload, can shoot through/around walls, always knowing where you are, and can throw grenades perfectly at your feet *while behind cover* most of the time instantly killing you, that is not acceptable "challenge". That is straight-up unfair, and there is nothing human reactions can do to save you from that. And I don't think I even need to go into why the Boss fight is really just forcing players to use exploits. The game needs to stop being made like this, it's already got way too many modifiers, plus the champion spam is too much. I can see the mission being reasonably difficult if champs weren't in the game, but currently the difficulty is set way too high, even for GMs.
Since D1, I've been a player who can do most end-game activities with little effort, including soloing GMs, but when it comes to these Battlegrounds, they are not missions made for this difficulty. They aren't even strikes... So I don't understand why the hell they are even in a strike playlist. It doesn't matter what level of player you are, this isn't a fair challenge to anyone, regardless of the fact it is still barely possible for the best of the best of players. If I can do the other GMs, I shouldn't be locked from my gild because of one extremely unfairly over tuned GM that isn't even a strike.

1 ReplyI helped many people get their seal gilded. Sometimes you neeed help from others and I think it’s a very hard but fun GM that should stay in rotation. If you need messages me I’ll help you complete this GM as long you have a good power level and amor stats.

4 RepliesKnowledge is your friend in this GM. It’s not that hard, with the right team. As for the boss, when Savathun(s) come out, stay back near the start, the lightning storm attack can’t reach you there. Grab a spear, and be safe there.

10 RepliesEdited by Verke0: 8/13/2023 10:23:30 PMAs a hunter main i burn through the GM easily, but still cant get below 30 minutes. That said, i only play lfg. Its not a strike, the quality isnt there and its quite annoying, because other people can -blam!- the run. Also, the boss fight is pretty boring.
-
Not gonna lie this is TLDR but I’ll just say that this season was extremely easy for GM’s. Battlegrounds moon isn’t that hard once you know the layout of the rooms. Just gotta take your time and play smart. I did it with lfg multiple times already. If you need help running it then shoot me an invite 🙂 Gilded conqueror x8

Completely agree and you see it reflected in LFG, where most people are asking for you to host any other nightfall. Bungie will have data for this (the amount of people running the moon psi ops) but you can bet they just ignore it, because slapping a few champions in a mission and not tuning it is way cheaper than making a new nightfall.
-
10 RepliesAnd yet they are so excited to add them to gms, the community and bungie are no where near on the same page.
-
It’s funny how every time they add a psiops or battleground you cannot achieve platinum on GM because of a bug with the champions you have to wait until the last couple of weeks for a fix

"New strikes are too hard to make. Let's make past story missions into strikes" -Bungie. Battlegrounds don't have the same flow as a strike. They could've updates archon priest strike on venus from D1 or any strike from D1. Would've been more enjoyable than these battlegrounds.

Edited by The Legend Himself: GONZO: 8/14/2023 12:55:36 AMI’m not a fan of the Battlegrounds myself but it’s more doable than you might realize. I’ve sherpa-ed plenty of fireteams. If you need help, reach out. There’s plenty of people willing to help, myself included.

2 RepliesNah. If you can’t gild this season, you can’t gild. Simple as.
-
2 RepliesYou don't have to use exploits to finish the current GM. You need a plan and experience.
-
I somewhat agree, but at the same time enjoy the challenges these have brought to the GMs and gilding the title. That said, I did cheese Mars, both at the beginning and with the boss. They ARE doable, albeit with some skill and strategy. Overall though, I don't think they have a place in GMs by virtue of the fact they are BGs, and not a strike per se. However, if they had BGs as GMs, with and associated title, I'd probably try and knock them out each season. NB, for the record I'm not a no life, super sharp player! (Actually a 52 year old grandfather!) Still gilded Conquerer every season which makes Grandma Acer very happy...😂😂😂

4 RepliesThey should give battleground its own playlist again and then give it its own nightfalls each week
-
3 RepliesI hate the seasonal content being forced into the strike playlist. Just more laziness from this developer. Why produce new strikes when they can just shove the garbage content we grind during the seasons into the playlist & stand by it like they've created new content for the playlist?
-
1 ReplyBungies way of making more "CHALLENGING" content is to just multiply enemies, make them pinpoint accurate tanks with infinite heavy ammo. It's cool and all, but why not add more mechanics? I feel like I'm trying to solo a raid boss every time. The whole champion mod system is very restricting and needs an overhaul. Hundreds of armor, weapons, perks, and ability combinations and your stuck using a few...and then fewer from that pool considering how obnoxiously ridiculous and abnormal the enemies are.
-
They should make a separate playlist for those and leave them unnerfed. GM difficulty, same density and everything else. People that want to "challenge" themselves could do it all day. The rest of us can stay away as far as possible.
-
The Vanguard Ops playlist should stay the same, with both. But Nightfalls should be split into 2 lists, one for Strikes (Conquerer) and one for Battlegrounds (with a new seal/title). 6 of each as GMs each season.

Also their Warlock/hunter gear pieces are well below 90 stats You really think someone who makes such a bold claim is using DIM to min/max?
-
3 RepliesI understand that they should be removed, but I'm a bit hesitant to agree, because if they do get removed, Bungie isn't gonna make a new strike to replace it. It's crucible maps all over again. Bungie can't do their job anymore it's so sad.
-
4 RepliesThey should be removed from the Heroic Strike list as well because they are a lazy excuse to not have to make new Strikes. They are fine for seasonal activities within their respective seasons, but ultimately they are throw away content and should be thrown away after their year is up. I think initially players were upset about the DCV so they voiced keeping seasonal activities around but all seasonal content with the exception of the year of Forsaken is extremely forgettable.

4 RepliesHow about this, battlegrounds are not strikes!!!!!!

-
2 RepliesDifficult or not, battlegrounds are monotonous. I totally understand reusing assets and from a practical standpoint I can understand reusing missions as strikes but bungie acts as if bringing back things from the DCV is enough. That’s not content, that’s giving us back what we paid for.
-
4 RepliesNailed it. If it requires exploits/cheeses to have a shot, its clearly way too much. What's ridiculous is that Raids are the end game, not these Nightfalls, yet these are infinitely harder than Raids. Where does that even make sense? How is a Hero level Nightfall going to be more effort than a Raid? Its like they purposely choose the worst answer, its so habitual😂. Battlegrounds was an awful addition to the Ops list, partially because they're just too damn long, and Bungie apparently hasn't learned after - every single Battlegrounds, that its too much. If they want them to be stronger than Raids, then they need a whole playlist to themselves with GREAT loot, like all important materials drop, and Raid tier weapons. If that's not possible or they don't have the skill or time to do so, then drastically tune them down; zero areas with infinite enemies. At no point is infinite enemies an acceptable answer, unless its a pure endurance test where the literal only goal is just "How many waves can you survive?" Then its acceptable.
-
2 RepliesBattlegrounds should be a separate playlist from Strikes under the Vangaurd thing.
-
2 RepliesBungie - "we feel the addition of battlegrounds was a success and will add more in the near future". 🤨 When I read that in the SOTG I was generally confused as to who actually enjoyed this activity in NFs. Not one person I play with enjoys this headache
