I've spent the past two weeks trying to solo-flawless this dungeon. I've already done Shattered Throne, Pit and Prophecy and they all seemed like a breeze.
The final boss is what I'm stuck on. I'm running an arc hunter and use both Liar's Handshake and Assassin's Cowl, for this dungeon though, it's mostly the Cowl. I have zero issues with this dungeon in a group setting, but the final boss encounter solo, has me puzzled. I've been there twice now as most of my runs end at the sparrow encounter. The two times I have managed to get past the sparrow part, i'm usually pretty nervous about messing up. Both times ended before the first damage phase. The first time I left a dreg alive that I didn't think would be a problem while I tried taking the sniper shanx out, well that was a mistake as that dreg is what killed me. Last night, I died because I lost track of the timer on holding the riches.
I'm making stupid mistakes that I know are easily avoidable. But I'm really losing the drive to get this dungeon done solo-flawless, because the number of times I have attempted it, I absolute loathe every part of it leading up to the boss fight.
What are some strategies, or advice for that last boss? for the boss, i'm running witherhoard, the arc trace rifle and Stormchaser with double arc surge mods from a video I have seen. Last night I switched the trace rifle for a scout to handle the sniper shanx. Also running gathering storm with assassin's cowl. Both times i made it to the boss, I feel like I'm too excited from just finally making it there, that i'm not able to really focus.
Edit: I know everyone says this is the easiest dungeon to solo-flawless, but so far it's proving to be the most difficult for me.

Edited by TheBoyWhoLived: 8/10/2023 12:13:16 PMI did it too with assassin cowel arc hunter For damage ive used lament. (Use double special for the extra ammo) But first thing you need to do is always kill the 2 yellow bars before anything else. How? Dont use your weapons they are useless, use your super, use your grenade maybe use your melee with x3. If you dont have your super, take the “fake engrams” and it will charge your super, bank those and use your super. Try to use it so it will hit both of them, but definitely focus on the flying one. (Dont forget to use solar surge for extra damage) Edit: it’s definitely mot the easiest to solo flawless. Pit, shattered, prophecy and grasp are way easier

I ran it on hammer titan. Always take care of the shank and the other guy in middle first. Then grab the rocket. Then start rotating and never stop, using things like titan hammer or your arc melee to stay alive or stay invisible. Once you get the rotation down, you'll always be banking max motes and replenishing your super, so spamming it is also a good tip. Boss dps can be annoying If you don't have something like a barricade, rift, sunspot to heal you. So stay moving if you've got nothing. It's the biggest downside to hunter solo dps. Maybe a well placed super can help you just before you pick up the last 10 stack. Quickly deposit and hopefully the super has cleared away the adds doing you the most harm. Your window won't be big. Hammer titan just uses fires the odd witherhoard and super for dps and then stands in the fire to bonk hammer with max stacks. You're free then to spam your weapons on everything else.

Sounds like you just need to watch the timer and take your time.

Don’t forget you get a super back for collecting 10 motes. At the start of every cycle spam super on the shank. Do a bit of add clear, get 10 motes, super shank again till dead. When the mini bosses are gone then you can pick up 20 a time or however many you can to speed up the encounter. For damage use what you want really but position yourself behind the boss at the top of the stairs, using the pillar at the top of the stairs for cover. Do not stay in centre as adds will mess you up.

It seems like you already know what you are doing wrong. You said you get to excited and lose focus. Looks like you need to stay focused and stay locked in. Don't rush, if it takes you 10 damage phases, oh well. Just stay patient.

The arc hunter + assassin's cowl is a great choice, for starters! I recommend actually using Lament with a lucent blades mod on your chest armor. You may have to 4-5 phase, but take it slow and you will kill him. For the mini bosses, try nuking them with your super, but prioritize the shank. If you need to, kill the scorch vandal to drop 10 motes to get your super back. You can always punch/finish one of the small ads to get invisibility in order to dump the motes if you need to. Your combat loop: Drop super on the mini bosses (focusing on the shank if possible), a little bit of ad clear + kill the scorch vandal (multiple times if you need riches for another super), DPS the boss, by using your gathering storm and Lament. When your super runs out, hit him with a pulse grenade and continue damaging with Lament. The best combo for Lament in my opinion is guard, then two charged light attacks + one charged heavy, then two normal light attacks. Also, I know you said you were having issues with only the boss, but I also have some advice for consistently getting through the sparrow section. Take the left path all the way there up until the end, then take the right side launcher. Obviously, if you have the always on time sparrow, it helps too. You can do it! Keep at it and just do your best, and learn from past mistakes. When you get it, let me know so I can congratulate you!

Its not about speed. It's endurance. That's it. You'll be in the boss room for 45 minutes. As a Hunter, best play is invis for survivability. Retrofit for heavy, Riskrunner for secondary, and a sniper for Kinetic. Shank has priority after every phase. Other than that it's take it slow and get damage when you can. That's literally it. If you need to take an extra cycle to be safe, then do it

I don’t have experience on a hunter, but you want to deal with the shank as fast as possible from a safe distance which for me is top left by where you drop in for final. After shank is dead due to me having well I ignore the vandal and go straight to scorch cannon and drop left side then middle then left, middle and so forth once I have 60 I deposit drop well wither hoard / hot head / sunbracers and rinse and repeat.

Edited by Supernova5124: 8/9/2023 9:22:22 PMFor taking out mini bosses, go behind the thing the exo is in at the back of the room and make sure there anrent any ads that can kill you. Swap to osteo striga, this easily takes down both the shank and dreg. After that switch to what you want for survivability/boss DPS. I would switch to survivability, get 50 riches and go to the middle, pop a roaming super for the damage resist and just sit there avoiding the boss. Go behind cover and switch to your boss DPS loadout/super, and go get 10 more riches. This will give you full super. Deposit that and DPS from a little bit behind him, up on the platform he teleports to. You can use the thing the exo is in for cover. Edit: if possible, I found Titan to be easiest. Run solar+lorelys for the 50 riches, then switch to lament + stronghold + bubble for DPS. I think I did it in 3 or 4 phases.

1 ReplyI seen a great safe guide on YT - Chablo91 Other than that perseverance and adapt if necessary, you’ll get it.

I got a fool proof* method for the sparrow part, no AoT needed! The key is on both B & C just before you get to the zones, jump off sparrow near cover do not allow the sparrow to be destroyed], then grenade/blinding GL/rocket the ads in the zone, summon a fresh sparrow on or preferably just before the zone and then boost through it. Choose a sparrow with the perk that has lower summon time. Don't need AoT, but if you have it yeah use it I suppose. I always went left for the last zone with the booster gate thing, grab that last time boost node, grenade down and drop on to the zone. *mostly fool proof, it worked for me anyway and I have no AoT sparrow

I had a lot of luck with this one with well warlock Cartesian and a linear. It found it was a good combination of safety and high damage. I think it took 3ish phases Getting in the bosses face to melee him over the course of his long damage window is dangerous. With well or bubble you can stand further away/peak in and out of cover etc and not risk getting slapped around

It's not the easiest to solo-flawless. I think that one goes to Shattered Throne? Personally, I haven't done it myself yet. But one key point to remember in all Dungeons is that there is no real time limit to the encounter. You can take as many damage phases as you need in order to stay safe. Also, burn your super as much as you can because you get it back after picking up 10 Riches.

Warlock-well. Easy peasy.

1 ReplyYou might consider switching out Exotic weapons to Rat King w/Catalyst for improved survivability through the use of Invis + Healing that can be activated after taking out enemies at mid-range. This will afford you more breathing room to safely take out the adds between damage phases as you don’t have to worry about any timers until you start picking up Engrams. This of course reduces your DPS potential compared to other Exotic weapon choices, but it’s a bit of a moot point if you’re having difficulty consistently reaching the damage phase to begin with. 2 RepliesEdited by Seki: 8/9/2023 6:22:03 PMYou have time before picking up the riches. Focus on getting down the 2 minibosses (while staying somewhat safe). You can use your super, you get an instant refill when you pick enough burdens. Riskrunner provides a major damage resist against arc damage (if this is part of your struggle) while also being a fantastic clearing tool. Imo the legendary linear is a good choice as you can hit the boss from range and cannot selfown with this one. I did that on Warlock and found bringing the stacks to the crystal was the scariest part (which was the reason i used Well for that). ^I hope this is a non-issue for you, I have never attempted that on hunter (let alone arc)
