Bungie has said that their resources are mostly going toward PvE, and not much towards PvP and Gambit.
So...if you were waiting to find out what their plan is before you buy the next DLC...THEY JUST GAVE YOU THE PLAN!!
They don't want or need your money!
If they did, they wouldn't come right out and FINALLY admit their plans.
Now you can't complain that they tricked you into buying the DLC, when you assumed they were going to give you more. It's on you, so complain if you want, but it'll fall on deaf ears.
They're just being honest, and putting their cards on the table. Choose to do with it as you see fit, based on your gaming preferences. But hear this loud and clear...if you are playing this game solely for PvP or Gambit...feel free to accept the diminished additions over the next year...or wait for Marathon.
You have their playbook...now be mature and accept it and move on.

If you seriously want Bungie / Destiny to change - you need to stop playing & purchasing Bungie products. The only feedback gaming corporations understand is player population, player engagement, and sales numbers.

1 ReplyEdited by Zoobz: 8/9/2023 2:16:27 AMLiterally it’s a PVE game with a side of PvP The player numbers say that and Bungies resources say it as well now PvP could be taken out of the game and the game would roll on

1 ReplyIf this minimalistic effort is going towards PvE then they have like no resources going into the game as it is. If I am ever dumb enough to purchase the final shape it will be on a heavy discount.
-
1 ReplyNone of that has anything to do with the expansion. Strikes, crucible, and gambit aren't endgame. Those are side dishes. Bungo is prioritizing story and exotic mission content.

1 ReplyI moved on back in June. Now this just makes it to where I wont ever come back.

Edited by Seki: 8/8/2023 6:48:05 AM
They don't want or need your money!
Yes they do. They admitted to that the moment they revealed Cayde for the cashgrab come Final shape.
Bungie has said that their resources are mostly going toward PvE, and not much towards PvP and Gambit.
Sadly they still balance a lot from a pvp-perspective. It looks like they cannot make the final decision necessary.

6 RepliesI agree with your overall message about accepting the reality of Bungie’s PvE vision for the game. However, I’m really curious where this idea came from that nobody knew their plans regarding PvP (I’ve read it in multiple posts since the SOTG). They’ve been communicating this info for years. As for Gambit, yes they kept pretty silent on it, but it was obvious they abandoned any significant support a long time ago. To my knowledge, PvP and Gambit are not being diminished from what we’ve been getting in recent years.

Edited by TheShadow: 8/8/2023 2:07:35 PM
Now you can't complain that they tricked you into buying the DLC, when you assumed they were going to give you more.
The messed up thing about all this is knowing since they went on their own the lying has gotten a lot worse. I can deal with games having issues because they all do, it's to be expected. Although, nowadays putting making a profit by any means way above everything else no matter how wrong it is by manipulating people to buy a product has become a huge issue across gaming. Look at the crap that has happened these last few years when it comes to games releasing broken including both D1/D2 base games. Let's lie to are fans making them feel if they pay now, "we will fix or broken product later". That is what these useless businesses are about these days and IMO a lot of these "developers" should be shut down. Then again, if there weren't way too many mindless people in this world that blindly buy, maybe things would be different.

Yeah be mature and do what pleases you, instead of following rage advice from random online threads 🥱

2 RepliesNow that we found truth what are we going to do…with it!

2 RepliesIt all started when PvP players claimed they carried the game when the PvE content was used up halfway through a season. Bungie basically said yeah you guys keep playing but you don't buy anything. Playing without buying does not matter to them.
