State of the game was Tone-Deaf and Ironic
Still don’t understand how the ginormous amount of money pulled in doesn’t warrant hiring more teams to make more content.
Wouldn’t it be worth it to have multiple stacked teams making a complete product than three skeleton teams reskinning stuff every season and having to defend it EVERY YEAR?
It is really ironic how they complain [u]so much[/u]
about having limited resources, but the money continues to POUR IN for bungie if you have been watching recent news. I get it takes time to invest it in more people, but this is kinda crazy.
If you want an example of what the game could look like with full teams, take a look at the year after Forsaken released with the support of multiple studios. That is the level I expect and I feel what this game as a complete product deserves.
The game being on borderline life support between seasons has got to change, and I would like to see more innovation instead of constant reskins.

1 ReplyMy guess is overdelivering doesn’t actually translate to more dollars made. Otherwise why wouldn’t they do it? People love to call bungie greedy. So if it truly came down to making more content, their greed would drive them to do it.

I think all the new money is being funneled into Marathon and Matter, and not into D2. I agree with the complete tone-deaf element. In the core goal section of making Destiny more challenging, they say they are going to NOT bump the power again this season due to so much positive feedback about it being so easy. So which is it? The removal of power bump this season has received [i]abject condemnation[/i] from me about it, so I'm not sure where they're getting all this cheering for not having to chase pinnacles. Chasing pinnacles was my whole point for returning to play, and I have skipped most of this season because there's no pinnacles to chase.

This is the same company whose devs take to social media to slam other games for using the same technology as their own game, instead of waiting a couple more weeks for said game's first season to flop so hard that there was a valid reason to hate on it.
