TLDR: Making stuff is hard. We hear your feedback and we wanted to let you know making stuff is hard and why we won’t be listening.
1. Can’t make new pvp maps because it’s hard.
Bungie: “Yeah who cares if a large portion of the community plays pvp….let’s just hammer down on eververse twice a season.”
2. Can’t make new gambit content because they don’t have intentions on making it better.
Bungie: “Hmm…maybe they’ll like gambit more if we refresh eververse again?”
3. Bungie isn’t making new annual ritual armor because it’s hard and people don’t use it as ornaments. Well how about you make a good set then!
Bungie: “Oh gosh players still aren’t happy. Let’s raise the prices of eververse items. That should help.”
Bungie is literally telling you flat out they don’t care about these core playlists and the things we want.
What happened to all the people they were hiring and all this money Sony gave them? -blam!- back in the Taken King when we got like multiple strikes, multiple crucible maps, an engaging narrative, COMPLETE vendor refreshes with weapons and armor for vanguard and crucible, faction updates, etc.
Now all we get is one crucible weapon here every season. One new map every few years. It’s funny because specifically the PvP player base is not happy with not getting maps and is driving them away. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money bungie. Whether it’s crucible, strikes, gambit, etc. These playlists are driving morale down A LOT at the moment. Not appeasing to these people is driving them away.
I think it’s clear bungie’s main priority is the eververse store. If only they knew a happy customer is more likely to buy something from their shop…….I just don’t understand the logic.

I stopped playing finally a few weeks ago and this response from Bungie only solidifies my position: not coming back and not buying any future products from them. I did the same to EA when they killed off command and conquer, still haven’t forgiven them to this day and now Bungie can join them amongst the ranks of game devs I despise the most and will not support in any fashion, including monetarily. And I have to say, it has actually been rather freeing enjoying lots of other stuff. Destiny is just a chore, now that it’s gone I have so much time to play other stuff on multiple platforms.

Their logic is flawed, with all the micro transactions being released. This game has a free trial. It is not free to play. If it was, they would need micro transactions to fund the game.
-
The part that bothers me is that there are probably d1 maps that they can either add or reskin them but they won’t even do that

3 RepliesI am yelling at the screen about the decision to bump the power level AGAIN the next season. The pinnacle grind to get to the next bumped level is the whole reason I even play Destiny at all since Beta. Before, the main reason to even grind for pinnacles was for Iron Banner, but then you made it so that power level doesn't matter, so there was no reason to really bother getting pinnacles, if it wasn't going to even matter. And then you go and take away the whole point of doing rituals entirely. Is it your intention to alienate the veteran players? I've been coming back BECAUSE of the power grind, and now you're throwing it away?

They need Activision back lol

Obviously we won't use an armour set if its boring. To go back on your word about a dlc armour set all the while you make eververse items and up the price is just sickening. The state of the game is this.. content is still hard to make and we don't really want to make anything we can't charge you more for.

I was optimistic the next few seasons would turn things around leading up to Final Shape. The State of the Game pretty much deflated any interest I have in D2. See you all in Starfield!
-
The game is dying and Bungie don’t care about Destiny anymore.
-
2 RepliesBut they have time to make stuff for Eververse 🤦♂️
-
I don't know which is scarier: Bungie legitimately thinking this article would help add anticipation for the showcase, or, Bungie using this article as a way of admitting that D2 is no longer their main concern.

4 RepliesThe best comment I saw about this SOTG was on Reddit. "I hope the Witness wins and kills us all because I can't take this anymore" Class.

Kinda wonder where all those clowns 🤡 that always seem to agree with bungie what ever they say they were probably bungie employees

1 ReplyI've said it about Sunsetting & Content Vaulting and I'll say it again here: You can't call the state of the game a joke. People LIKE jokes.
-
1 ReplyBungie really is a rotting corpse of it's former self.
-
Jokes are usually funny. This was just sad. I was surprised by this article. I didn’t have high hopes and this article was actually worse then I expected.

6 RepliesWhen decisions to hire people are more aligned with people’s backgrounds rather than their professional competence, this happens. They have a clearly incompetent team working on destiny right now.
-
9 RepliesI'm old by gamer standards. No, I'm not geriatric. But, let's just say I'm far enough in my career that I no longer feel poor. I have, not a large amount, but some money to spend on these things if I wanted to. And, I do buy battle passes and cosmetics in games that I enjoy playing. I'm no whale, not by any stretch of the imagination. But, I have to think there are enough middle aged people out there like myself who have been working for 25 years and are not buying stuff from Eververse because the game is not enjoyable. That's a good chunk of money that Bungie is just leaving on the table by not making an enjoyable game.
-
4 RepliesThe answer’s simple. The vast majority of resources they generate aren’t going towards D2 anymore, it’s going to other projects. We’re just subsidizing their new games right now. This is ok at times, but you need to keep your cash cow going in order to keep money flowing. Bungie isn’t reaching that. For PvP, why do we no longer have a dedicated PvP team? One to make maps and fix general non-sandbox issues… we had one, but it was stripped and I’d be willing to bet that they’re working on Marathon at this very minute. To me, this will probably be my last destiny expansion unless something changes. I’ll play what I’ve already bought and call it good. If they wow me, $100 isn’t that much for me in the grand scheme of things. But it’s all coming down to the showcase and next season in my eyes…

1 Replyit costs more to play destiny than to play an mmorpg like wow, and destiny has less content, and bungie cries broke and too hard, they are insulting the playerbase
