Who's idea was it to make Neomuna weapon farming so scarce and boring??
I've run over 100 heroic patrols in the past two days and have yet to get a single iterative loop red boarder. Im happy to spend hours grinding the same GMs or trials map ... but patrols? As someone who is in the D2 endgame why am I restricted to this monotonous, unfulfilling, and unyielding grind that leaves me feeling so frustrated and defeated. I would be happy to grind something as hard as GMs or trade in exotics/ascendant shards if it would guarantee a red boarder, even once a week. Why is there nothing like this? I understand you want keep player retention high, but I can assure you that making red boarders more straightforward and accessible would not stop me from exploring the awesome worlds you have created and playing in the raids, dungeons, vanguard ops, and crucible that I love so much. Just the thought of doing 4 patrols and then a heroic patrol to get a 50 stat helmet makes me want to throw up, and I am giving up entirely on crafting the iterative loop that I want so much. As a player who has spent so much time and money on this game, is this how you want me feel? Do you really think your player base deserves this?

4 RepliesYou do know bungie removed red borders from heroic patrolls like 10 weeks ago right...at the start of this season. Red borders drop from heroic public events. They even said so in the patch notes.

You pretty much answered your own question - because people like you are willing to grind 100 heroic patrols in an attempt to acquire them. If nobody was doing what you are doing, this wouldn't be a thing. Bungie has the data. You are an addict.

I mean they got you to keep playing on Neomuna didn't they? After releasing such an awful expansion, they need some way to keep you playing it.

2 RepliesYeah they drastically nerfed them. Best bet in opinion is Terminal overload and doing the weekly Vex Network missions. I gave up and just spent 2 of my season pass deepsight things to finish my last gun (HC)

1 ReplyI spent a couple hours there yesterday farming legend patrols and other various things to do the weekly challenge and farm the overload for a while and got zero deepsight, the same terrible machine gun repeatedly, and the patrols eventually started rewading world drops not associated with Neomuna.

Neomuna is such a bore, I sighed the moment i saw the Solstice challenge to complete activities on Neomuna - I big sighed even more, when i heard some activities weren't even counting towards the progression.

Unfortunately, scarce and boring describes the entire game atm, the seasonal model has killed Destiny , and it looks like for good this time because there is no one left who cares that can do anything about -

Unfortunately they don’t tell players in easy to find ways, but gold patrols are not gonna get you neomuna weapons anymore. You’re going to want to do the public event, over and over. It’s not much better. But don’t please don’t do the gold patrols. As someone who suffered to get all of the guns. Please just the public eventsz

They changed the weapon drops from gold patrols to public events. They also can be obtained from Nimbus ranking up. I suggest making the public events heroic though for a better chance. I also got most of mine by doing the campaign on legend on all 3 characters but not sure if they nerfed that as well.

Edited by Mudcat33: 8/1/2023 7:53:45 AMThey decreased the odds so people will feel forced to use the harmonizers. For those that aren't level 100 on the season pass but really want the weapon as fast as they can they might buy the skip tiers to obtain the harmonizers. This makes Bungie money.

It’s supposed to drop a weapon right? It was before, today I wasn’t getting any weapons at all. Can’t remember the last time I saw the pulse or hand canon.

The "Idea Room" at Bungie is a giant room that has a floor covered in index cards with random ideas written on them, with a giant cage that that is the length and width of the room connected to the ceiling. Several birds are kept in it and whatever cards the birds -Blam!- on, Bungie goes with. How else do they come up with such terrible ideas?

I hate them even more for nerfing the already low redborder drops. Now they even drop WORLD DROP ARMOUR ffs. Been 5 Heroic Patrols in a row where all I got was -blam!- “Prodigal Steps”, “Prodigal Robe”. Garbage.

1 ReplyCould use some spacing for that text wall, but I do agree that Neomuna has been more problematic than other world problems in the past. Hell, Neomuna across the board, save for the RoN raid and it’s scenery, has been a massive flop. The activities, the narrative and story pacing, the characters(or lack thereof), the loot, the atmosphere, you name it.

They don't care, they made a gold master build of the dlc with "ship and forget" in mind, so you'll need to use harmonizers for those, don't use em on raid/season stuff
