Silence and Squall does less damage than a Touch of Flame Fusion grenade

This super does 70k. It is the worst super in the game. Please buff it. “But it’s an addclear super” -moron Yes but so is silkstrike and that does 70k IN ONE SWING AND CAN SUSPEND A WHOLE ROOM. Even at its main job: add clear. IT IS GARBAGE. You need damage to kill adds. This super is trash. It is outclassed and the replies lack reading comprehension. So far all the rebuttals have been nothing but: “nuh uh” "It's meant for area denial" Oh okay so it's worthless in PvE? Got it. A Stasis turret does a better job at doing that than this super because you can get them back so fast. This super needs a massive buff, I do not understand your arguments in the slightest.

  • Silence and squal only works properly when someone uses it against you, it will follow you around through corners and alley ways and to the other side of the map.. When you use it on someone it doesn’t freeze them and they walk away and it hits a wall and dissipates

    • With double shurikens to reload stowed weapons it's still a good class for dps, would probably be too strong if the super was super good dps too.

      • I will say aswell, it’s trade off is it can handle multiple champions at once. It’s stuns/counters every champion, and allows for a constant state of CC with shatter damage. It’s a extremely quick cooldown and even quicker when Bonds is used. See my other post for what I think could use a buff in it.

It would be super cool if they went more in the CC direction for hunter Stasis. Aspects or exotics that changed its super to be a kin to a “multi tornado” would be great. Or making a shuriken exotic that drastically increased tracking and bounces on hit, while increasing the energy gained back from stasis shards. The “problem” with the super, is that the rest of the subclass is A tier for damage, ability regen and CC. Having an amazing super probably wouldn’t fit the “balance” quota for Bungie lol. Which I’d disagree with. It could use a buff 4 sure, but they’d have to have it more PvE focused tbh. If they were to buff it, I’d like to see a speed increase, a damage increase VS frozen targets(25%) and the ability to NOT get caught on walls and ledges.

      • Two shackle grenades control ads far better than that super. It's actually pathetic.

      • It would be a great way to add a new debuff/status effect for stasis. It could be called "sheer cold" and make it so that targets effected by stasis verbs take increased precision damage for crit-able weapons. This alone will make hunters raid and endgame viable since they have good slow options. Either way bungie needs to stop being afraid to take these steps for certain subclasses.

      • Stasis in general needs a buff. So much of those subclasses have been heavily outclassed with 3.0 and strand. Silence and Squall is a great example of this. They should drastically increase its damage versus frozen combatants.

      • silence and squall is a DPS monster? ice hunter has more single target damage than strand warlock. actually, I think it might be the highest DPS super in the game right now. It's probably one of the best supers in the game in general because it lets you use your weapons while it freezes everything. Its one of the only supers in the game that's a cast AND roaming super. I guess there are other supers that let you use your weapon, but they don't do as much damage. The only other super that I can really think that kind of acts like it is gathering storm. But gathering storm doesn't move around and reapply freeze for OP shatter damage on targets far apart from each other. Also, gathering storm doesn't give you Ionic traces like silence and squall gives you Grimm harvest shards if you're using it on a boss. Anyways, silence and squall is amazing and probably my favorite super, not only for how unique it is but I'm pretty sure it's the most powerful in the game right now anyways. definitely doesn't need a buff. Like that thing shreds everything in the game and is even OP in PVP. It's not like stasis is over tuned anyways, and it's the sub class that lets Hunters skate so if it wasn't an arc and void season, I think I just be using it

It’s enemy control and freeze support. Roaming supers like Silkstrike require you to channel them (so using them requires input from the user, you cannot shoot your guns while using Silkstrike). When you cast Silence and Squall, it controls areas and you can still run around, use guns, etc. Silence and Squall’s strength is that it has the benefits of a one and done super (like Nova Bomb) while having the ability to roam around autonomously, allowing the player to do other things while it acts, while also adding slow and freeze support, at the cost of the high damage numbers other supers provide. It’s not meant to deal huge amounts of damage, it’s supposed to control areas and apply freeze quickly for your team to capitalize on (although star eaters can make basically any super at least viable, damage wise).

          • SS isn't add clear, it's area denial / control. But yes, it's more of a shutdown PvP super than anything truly useful in PvE except for a handful of possible uses like halting an approaching or spawning wave of enemies that focus or can be funneled on one spot since bosses ignore slow and freeze effects.

          • I don’t think it’s a dps super, more of an ad control from what I seen and holding territory in pvp.

              • Well does less damage than a fusion grenade too = buff well S&S is an ad clear super that roams and freezes, why would it need to do an insane amount of damage?
