Got to love the bungo logic of this one.
We ask to be able to hold more mats and they reduce the max by 25% for shards and alloys and 50% for prisms.
Grief bugno don't do us any favours or anything, would it really have hurt to have just kept the max the same at 40 and 200.
Sure I guess I'm in the 1% with more than I can spend stacked in my postmasters but this still feels like a nerf badly presented as a favour. It doesn't really matter but the 'we are listening' really sounds a bit hollow with the do the opposite and make things worse response every time.
Coming soon from bungo's reverse logic department: All weapon damage to receive a 100% damage buff, all enemy health raised 1000%.

10 RepliesIt's more mats for 99% of us.
-
3 RepliesGood thing we don't care about the 1% that are crying. This change benefits 99% of players.
-
I don't care that we're going to be able to hold 10 fewer shards. I care that we've been asking Bungie to let us store more shards and this is their response. Always a monkey's paw effect when it comes to this company.
-
11 RepliesLOL at the replies. "This is an improvement" No it isn't. 10 + (10x3) = 40. 30 - 40 = -10. If they would have made the cap 40, it could have been considered a QOL improvement but they didn't. The question we should all be asking is why they didn't. "Improve your inventory management" My inventory management is just fine, hence why I was able to store 10 Shards on my account and 10 in each of my characters' Postmaster without losing any of them. "This only affects 1 % of players" I don't buy it. Literally every person I know who plays this game has 10 Shards in their inventory and 10 or close to 10 in the Postmaster of each of their characters.
-
4 RepliesCan you articulate an actual reason you need 40 shards?
-
When less than 2% of the playerbase is active, top 1% corresponds to 50% of the active players. As 50% of the active playerbase’s idol says: anyways… Who cares. There’s nothing to use these mats on. Exotic armors come with trash stats. Exotic engrams focusing comes with trash stats. I suspect these posts are fake. No one I know who has mats cares, we all laugh when some random engram pushes everything out of the postmaster and rejoice telling each others: YEAH NOW I CAN FINALLY GET A LOOT OUT OF GMs.

-
2 Replies1% of players affected. 1%
-
2 RepliesIf you’re hoarding you aren’t missing much, store mats in armor, you should have a few hundred slots in your vault that could easily be filled with exotics duplicates. You gotta spend money to make money
-
I think we all know by now that Bungie never does anything like this that actually ends up being beneficial to the player. Those of us who were perfectly capable of keeping our Post empty because we weren't hoarding literal garbage, never had a problem with golf balls.

1 ReplyWatching all the people complaining about this change is like watching billionaires complain about how anything that improves the lives of 90+% of the rest of the world is a crisis for their bottom lines and must be stopped because...why, exactly? Seriously, what are y'all doing that you need to hoard this many masterworking materials at once? I literally do not understand this drama.
-
This isn’t even a nerf stop complaining for the sake of complaining.
-
You don't need all those materials. Sometimes I'll have 10 ascendant shards in my postmaster and then get pushed out...and I don't even care.
-
9 RepliesY'all need to improve your inventory management skills fr.
-
13 RepliesWho cares?!? These materials are easy to come by. Nobody needs that many at once. Quit just paying the exact same thing that you've read from 100 other people. It is more than enough to upgrade a ton of things. Do some upgrades, then get more

It’s meant for people who don’t stack which like you said and bungie said is less than 1% of players. What you want from this will actively screw more people than it would help. Your feedback is actively trying to mess with almost all the player base. Plus this makes it so you don’t have to worry about your postmaster deleting materials you grinder for. This is 100% a positive change they are making and anyone against it is practically a no life or a streamer which isn’t what a game should focus on.

Edited by TripleF73: 7/28/2023 8:18:09 PMSeriously though you are right, this nerf is just another way to control the way we engage. And it only affects a small percentage, but it’s greater than 1% of the active players per month, as most of the 44.4 million registered players have left. Again a deliberate and disingenuous use of statistical data by Bungie. The thing that irritates me is they think we are stupid enough to accept this as a positive, when all Bungie had to do was to make the new caps on these materials to be the equivalent of the current total in inventory and the postmaster combined. As for this being what we requested, it was mostly solved by the eradication of blue engrams, this is another piece of disingenuous nonsense from Bungie. It’s not that this is a big issue in itself, it actually isn’t. I’m one of those that has the surplus of materials, but I’ve had to grind to get them at that level and have been as low as 12 AS this season. This is just another example of tone deaf idiocy, hubris and stubbornness from those that propose and then sign off on these ideas. All it does is solidify the apathy and distrust between the most engaged players and Bungie. It also reinforces the previous, much more serious issues regarding Lightfall’s campaign, PVP, the server stability issues, constant maintenance extensions, blanket mod disabling for weeks on end with no fix in sight, lack of transparency and over-monetisation. This is the “proverbial straw” for many people, including me. It is a small thing, and given the glaring issues with the game I ask those that defend every Bungie decision, why couldn’t Bungie just get it right for a change? I even have the answer. It’s up above. In bold.
-
If this isn't definitive proof that Bungie is out to screw us, idk what is.
