Bungie,
Please do not undervalue the importance of rewarding solo content. As I have stated in the past, for many PvE-focused Guardians, playing by yourself during the slower parts of a season is what keeps us in the game. Unfortunately, there are very few rewards for playing anything solo (especially with the recent increases in difficulty).
There are many reasons why people choose to sometimes play alone. Some just want to de-stress from life’s hardships by shooting some aliens in the face. Others want to test their individual builds and skills without the interference of other players. Or, perhaps, most of their clan-mates have temporarily moved on to other games and they don’t feel like gambling with the plethora of annoying, toxic, and/or incompetent blueberries in the hopes of getting blessed by RNG-sus with an Ascendant Alloy or other important end-game consumable.
“But Destiny is a team-oriented game!” That is true and I’m certainly not advocating that we convert Destiny into a “solos only” game or that we neglect team play in favor of solo content. But you know what else is true? Destiny is a PvE focused game! This, however, should not be used as an excuse for Bungie to neglect the Crucible or make it an unrewarding experience. Both communities and content deserve attention and should reward the player for their time and effort. I’m arguing that the same is true for solo content.
“So what are you asking for?” Good question! I’m asking Bungie to introduce solo PvE content that rewards the player for their time. Specifically, GM Lost Sectors that drop Ascendant Alloys upon a successful Platinum completion. Or realistic solo Master story missions from previous DLCs that drop Ascendant Alloys/Shards. Or, perhaps, something different that I can’t think of that’s fun, unique, and (more importantly) rewarding!
This solo itch used to be scratched by running solo Master weekly story missions. But ever since Lightfall, they have become annoyingly difficult and un-fun AND there’s no guarantee that you’ll get an Ascendant Alloy (which is demotivating considering some can take up to 45 min to complete solo). I know that this rant has an Ascendant Alloy bias but that’s because it’s an essential component for crafting Deepsight Weapons, something else that keeps us busy during slow periods and is predominantly a solo endeavor. “There’s not much going on in D2… … … well, might as well work towards those weapons that I crafted but haven’t added enhanced perks to.” Why not kill two birds with one stone?
Please consider this, Bungie.

1 Reply"I want to play the game solo" also... "The game is too hard and un-fun to play solo" So you're saying you want the game to be easy...
-
2 RepliesI think all content should scale like the Legendary campaign. More people in the fireteam increases difficulty & enemy density.

As a semi solo player I do agree with this.

12 RepliesContent is designed around multiplayer youre welcome to solo what ever you like outside of most raid encounters. The game was marketed as a multiplayer online experience therefore your request would make no sense.

8 RepliesSolo content is killing the game... In game lfg will be the death of clans and friends... Destiny was and is at its best when playing with friends and talking.

1 ReplyIt’s a multiplayer game. Go do patrol or solo a nightfall.

But then it wouldn't be as "watchable" Joe Blackburn simped for the streamers hard.
