Why remove the ability for shards and alloy to go to postmaster
Exactly what the title says!! Before these changes you could have 10 in inventory and 10 in postmaster for each character… that’s 40 and now you change it to 30 in inventory with no way to have them in postmaster? You are now effectively making this problem worse as per usual with this company

I never understand why people make such an issue about ascendant shards. I capped out my shards in all my characters postmasters before lightfall and haven’t even gone through most on them so far. How much armor do you have on the back shelf that you want to infuse that this is such an issue. With the new cap of 30 that’s still enough shards to fully enhance 4 load-outs including exotics

Having a cap at all negatively impacts players. The only reason they have it is to keep you coming back when it’s needed since you can’t hold that many. That’s to stop players from grinding easier GMs and activities for them. But what they fail to realize is the increase of playtime those weeks if they just removed the cap. Honestly if you’re charging 3 to focus and another 3 to masterwork then it’s just not worth it and I’d rather have the 40 total to target the exotic at that point

Because this change only effects the 1% the rest of you are just crying for the sake of crying and won’t notice this change. Just another reminder that this community is overly toxic and will always find an excuse to complain over nothing. Be honest with yourself, is this change really affecting your game play or are you just anti bungie

Because it’s annoying that we are encouraged to use our Postmaster as secondary storage. If you are in the 1% of players (myself being one of these players) who has 31+ ascendant shards at all times, you likely get enough ascendant shards that it doesn’t really matter if the cap is 30 or if it’s 40: you are virtually never using 30+ ascendant shards all in one go and you likely play enough high end content to constantly feed yourself ascendant shards. I get that the number itself is being lowered and that can feel frustrating after many players have asked for it to be increased. But frankly I’ll take 30 shards in my inventory over 40 shards but I have to constantly micro manage what is effectively the garbage can. I’d prefer they keep the cap at 40, but I’m glad they are moving away from allowing us to use the postmaster as storage.

I feel like Bungie has people working there that are purposely trying to make any W Bungie could post & convert it to an L. I want to believe that there's just bad actors or gunk in the gears jamming up the game, and Bungie could clean it up. But this is more than likely not that case & it's just the way this corp wishes to conduct themselves. If no one at Bungie thought this was not going to blow up in their faces & this wouldn't be them shooting themselves in the foot - that is absolutely wild to me. This company makes some of the most basic mistakes - I'm genuinely amazed they're still in business - let alone flourishing & popular.

We could have 200 prisms as well (50+ 50 each postmaster) now we can only hold 100. It’s just another nerf really.

It's a company od trolls. We had postmaster problems cause of BLUES! They removed them after YEARS of complaining, then NO ONE conplained about losing shards any more, cause there were no more blues. Now, listen to this! - they "heard" our complains about losing shards from the post master and they are removing the option for shards to go there 🤣 You can't make this sh up.

1 ReplyEdited by max: 7/27/2023 11:34:49 AMIt's never about why what how for 'qol' updates like this There's always a compliance test, you can not give something to the player without taking something back, otherwise players start expecting responsible behavior from this studio Dev claims it's done to prevent losing materials in postmaster, and their way to fix that is by making sure you lose them by default so they don't even enter the postmaster, there's no possible way you can make logical sense out of their action, you actually had to hate your own existence to take developers' side here and I blame these imbeciles more than I do Bungie, these are the idiots that enable Bungie in situations like this to step by step push the game to what it is today

I don't care one way or the other, but I feel they should've just left it as is. The only thing that's going to come from more of Bungies tinkering is more broken Destiny with even more downtime to fix what they just screwed up

I think a lot of us don't want to feel obligated to spend 1 to 3 Ascendant Shards just to acquire the Shards from Vendors, Rahool, or the Season Pass every time we hit 10. The only thing I can imagine myself doing with that many Shards, Post-Armor 3.0, would be Masterworking Exotic Armor pieces or Artifice Armor, once you have the rolls you want. Outside of that, I'd rather have a surplus Ascendant Shards safe in my inventory, rather than need to double-check the post-master so I don't lose them if I get items sent there.

It proves that bungo wants us to hold LESS of these resources not more.

All they had to do was allow more than one stack of materials to be held in your inventory, then it would be up to you to utilize the space as you see fit.

6 RepliesI could hold 10 on my characters inventory and then 10 in the mailbox of all three different characters that's a total of 40 now you're saying I Can Only Hold f****** 30 f*** you bungee the same goes for enhancement prisms 50 in inventory and 50 in the Mail on each character for a total of 200 > 100. Fu bungo

Personally I never held 40, most I get up to is 20. I think they should have just bumped it up to holding 40 though so it doesn't feel like a nerf.

Everyone forgetting you can still keep 30 in the post master and fill up the inventory to 30

I would rather carry 30 shards safely instead of 40 with 30 being in a fifo box. Seems like you're going out of your way to find problems with the solution
