Bungie, I have a very serious question here. Why? Who in their right mind looked at these changes and said, "Yep that's what we need to do". After the last hotfix, stasis might as well been deleted from the game with how big of a nerf it got. I am struggling to understand why you would do this right now.
To get everyone up to speed: The Whisper of Rime fragment gives an over-shield when you collect a stasis shard. If you are not in full health, then it heals you instead. Bungie reduced the total over-shield health from 100 hp to 50 hp and reduced the amount of over-shield/health given by a stasis shard from 12.5 hp to 5 hp. They also say non-players deal 50% damage to stasis over-shield. I hope it means 50% less damage and not 50% more but, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it was 50% more LOL.
What was the reason behind nerfing something to this degree? No one knows.
If we take the angle of "PvP players complained about it", then it makes no sense whatsoever. I rarely see any Behemoth Titan or Revenant Hunters. The only stasis users I see are Shadebinder warlocks with their cold snaps. While warlocks can create shards by freezing targets, this was never done. They usually ran Iceflare bolts (one that lets you chain freezes) with either bleak watcher (the turrent) or frost pulse (freeze rift). The very few Revenant Hunters that exist, don't rely on stasis shards either as they run the freeze dodge with the touch of winter. It's Titans -blam!- on stasis shards, and we rarely see them anymore. Even if the overshield was broken (which it isn't), the subclass as a whole is below average in PvP. Then why nerf it even further? Why can't behemoth titans have one or two strong points like the warlock with their super and cold snap? The only thing this change will do is drive more Titans to use Arc Titan. I don't think you want that as Arc Titan is a problem in PvP. So, with that, nerfing it in PvP makes no sense.
Now why nerf it in PvE? Was Stasis overperforming to a point where other subclasses couldn't compete? NOPE. In fact, with the seasonal artifact mods right now it's the exact opposite! There is no reason to use stasis at all. Even without artifact mods, stasis needs a buff to keep up with Light 3.0 and Strand. This nerf basically took away all the healing options for this sub-class. If you are a behemoth the nerf is especially hard as Hoarfrost-z was basically carrying this whole subclass. Now with its healing options stripped away, I see no reason to use this over void, solar, arc, or strand. I can see Stasis warlock being ok as they didn't rely on Stasis shards but, hunters who don't have access to healing rift will also greatly feel this nerf.
While writing this and typing stasis shards over and over again, I realized that Bungie's latest exotic is literally all about stasis shards. So, this nerf not only deleted stasis but, also their latest exotic LOL.
These nerf need to be reverted asap. Otherwise, I don't see stasis being any good. This also makes me worried about strand. Will you do this to strand once the next darkness subclass comes out with the final shape? I hope you don't take that route.
Lastly, If you want PvP to be better then maybe try making new maps and nerfing arc titan first. Stasis shouldn't even be looked at right now.

1 ReplySo I’m taking it you’ve never seen 3 statis titans in trials cheesing overshileds continually?

Just saying, well posted 👍 Conspiracy theory: nerf stasis- players that were using it, move to probably void or arc- especially titans, then Bungie will come out with a report about pvp numbers, graphs included, and say, “certain classes (void and arc) are being used at a higher rate then other classes.” “Because of this, we are giving them a tuning pass.”….aka a nerf, “in hopes of balancing out the pvp sandbox “.

3 RepliesYou should look into getting a job with the mainstream media. The way you exaggerate and stretch the truth, you'd be a natural at it

2 RepliesWe do know the reason, behemoth titans were breaking the game with constant overshield, health regen and 2 tap hand cannons. Of course stasis was gonna get nerfed to the ground. Every stasis nerf that has happened recently is all because of the behemoth titan. I don’t even blame the players for abusing it, its bungie’s fault for refusing to actually balance their game properly.

10 RepliesStasis was a terrible idea to begin with and it's only been proven over and over again. Can't be put the paste back in the tube now though.

Your not seeing them doesn't mean they weren't there.

I assume this is prep for an update to stasis.

Edited by Kiro - 13: 7/27/2023 12:25:59 AMThey keep talking about bringing stasis up to par with light 3.0 subclasses. But each Buff they have recently given has also been accompanied by a nerf. -Duskfield received a 45% cooldown increase with Lightfall, all other abilitys for every subclass received a 20% increase. -Whisper of chains got changed from 15% to 5%, a 66% nerf. Again light sub-classes only receive a 20% nerf to abilitys at most. -As for Rime, well its more or less fell of the map now with a 50% nerf to its overshield. Again even though I know I sound like a broken record light sub-classes are not subject to such massive adjustments. Where these changes warranted? Yes to an extent but if your statement is to bring stasis up to par then when you make a change that is a nerf you need to also give it something else. You dont remove as much as you add as thats the definition of an equilibrium not an improvement which is what stasis needs.

Edited by THE K1LL1ONA1RE: 7/26/2023 11:05:51 PMIt’s ok only a handful of people bought beyond light anyway (Their logic, probably)

6 RepliesTitans for sure was hit with the final nail in the coffin, may as well delete it

3 RepliesAs a behemoth main, I'm essentially abandoning the subclass. You could scavenge together a potent build if you played it right, and it worked. Keep crystals up for the damage resist, and shatter them when you're low for healing. That's completely gone now, and it takes more shards for an overshield anyway. Off to a new life as a Threadrunner. So long, icy boi.

Darn. I used to only run Stasis last season, I would use the Stasis bow on Stasis hunter with Aeon Cult gauntlets, and keep running the hero season activity. I was that weird guy in Season of Defiance running dual-primary with Stasis on Stasis hunter, it was the weirdest functional build I ever used. Stasis just doesn't seem fun to use anymore, and I don't even feel like playing much this season compared to last season.

5 RepliesI can’t speak for behemoth because I don’t use it Revenant hurts because of the nerf Shadebinder, however, is completely unfazed by this. Nothing happened to them at all

Edited by My Waifu doesn't exist: 7/26/2023 4:10:54 AMI still main stasis so I actually want it to stay, shards on the otherhand need to be built into stasis and rework the aspect. But hey I'm used to them hating the subclass so in the end no amount of feedback matters. Misread your post a little, feel free to ignore me.
