The meta spam and camping and team firing is just so bad. I can’t go in with fun loadouts play around. It’s either use meta-or get stomped. Not to mention how slow the games go because everyone scared to peek. It’s not bad when you have a connection-based option, but when trails takes that away, it’s either play trials or don’t play nothing. Plus when you’re in the upper skill you’re facing Kronos, and all other cheats. If you want an SBMM playlist, that’s fine but can we at least all ways have a connection base regular 6v6 at all time. Not this team scorched or Mayham just regular controlled connection base.

2 RepliesSBMM lovers in PvP “now you PvP sweats know I how feel!!” SBMM lovers in PvE “you stopped me from getting the fishing gun with a boss that doesn’t take 30 seconds of AR fire to kill, THIS GAME IS RUINED REEEEEE” The irony of these players, absolutely overjoyed for a mode they don’t touch to be ruined for the player base that enjoys it but thinks bungie should turn the server off because there’s a garbage exotic they cant waltz in and sticker collect, keep in mind this is the absolute toxic waste player bungie is so desperate to appeal to.

I vote for cbmm... I'm not a sweat or a try hard, I do not want to stomp lesser players, I'm mid asf on my best day... Why? well I've seen no difference in lag or match making times between sbmm and cbmm. Actually I'm performing the same.. My vote for cbmm is because I can no longer play with my friends, we are all different levels of players and sbmm matchmaking doesn't care, sbmm matches our best player and that's who we are matching against on the other team everyone at that best players level, so nobody wants to play together anymore. I'd rather not play Destiny then play Destiny as a solo player, to me playing solo is not fun .

It must be so nice to 'go in with fun loadouts [and] play around'. Screw you OP, and your god gamer privilege...

12 Replies“I want to use fun loadouts” aka sweaty tryhard running nothing but meta in control, 10k kills on target lock Immortal wanting to stomp noobs that go in with PvE mods and the same ad-clearing loadout they use in Gambit. You want to avoid the same pain-in-the-a** gameplay you inflict on others. Just play at your level like everyone else. And also, if you really think the connections in this p2p-crossplay-low-population nightmare is any different in CBMM you are delusional. I’ve been playing this game long enough to know that it makes zero difference. Besides, the SBMM matches me with people who are gilded flawless tryhards in Control so I don’t know how that is skill-based. Some games my whole team is negative and the other team has a 20.0kd at the top. So spare me this nonsense …
-
Its been a better experience for me when compared to CBMM. Almost every game in CBMM, all my teammates would have a negative kd. At least with SBMM, while it can still happen, it is much less frequent compared to before. Plus I get to meet more people around my skill level with the new system.

I think you meant Bungie left pvp to rot and die

1 ReplyYou could just use fun load outs and not care? your 2.35 will take a hit. Guess it depends on what you hold a higher value for.
-
Agreed; it's weird that they can't just make a playlist for one with SBMM and one without, and let natural selection happen. It's strange that it must absolutely be one or the other with no choice.

1 ReplyIn all honesty I don't think pvp is sbmm any more it felt like iron banner was sbmm but normal control an pvp is back to cbmm from the way the lobbies feel and are lopsided I could be wrong but like I said above I don't think strict sbmm is on still

1 Replythere are 4 playlists that are not sbmm, there are 2 playlists that are sbmm. choose the correct one for you.

1 ReplyYou sweats are like a broken record 🤣🤣 Just follow True Vanguard and peace out as well. He dropped hard once he couldn't slay hordes of beginners, no one wanted to watch his videos any more. A 2.5 playing a 1.2 is a handout, but a 1.2 playing another 1.2 it is not. NO ONE is having it easy, it's finally the same thing for everyone, 0.5 or 3.5, no difference. You've had it on easy mode for years, it had to end some day. Stop whining already.
-
The only reason they need sbmm is because of how long the game has been out with the same maps and a lot of the same weapons. Someone who has been playing d2 crucible for 7 years is going to stomp on any newbs. They need to come out with new maps and different guns for pvp only every year or come out with a new game. That's the only way to make it fair and balanced
-
3 RepliesWell, we did go back to CBMM for Guardian Games and lol how that turned out. I think that even in a casual sense, some level of SBMM needs to happen just to reduce the chances of matching being one sided. Hope Bungie finished up … whatever new match making thing they were working in soon and that might help achieve some balance.

6 RepliesEdited by TornSolace: 7/26/2023 1:57:52 AMSbmm is great. You just want to be able to stomp noobs and ruin their games.

I just started playing destiny for the first time yesterday in like 5 months. I’m going against users with KD over 2.5 Does that mean I’m really good? Usually when you hardly play a game it takes time before I get put in those lobbies I must be god tier

20 RepliesWhat makes a game "fun"? 1) Solid connections, so everything works as expected. This is a requirement 2) Even teams, so the game isn't one-sided 3) It's more fun if you don't have to carry or get carried 4) Being able to use what you want to use without a significant penalty SBMM can operate without lag. CBMM can result in even teams. CBMM will always result in someone getting carried or having to carry. SBMM will always eliminate some loadouts from being viable options, but this can be mitigated in a balanced sandbox. Overall, whether you prefer SBMM or CBMM comes down to what you value. Personally, I prefer SBMM. I like getting even teams and having solid teammates. The Sandbox is fairly forgiving, so lots of builds are viable, and I don't notice an increase in lag.

9 RepliesSbmm is literally based on your skill. If you can't hang with people of similar skill then it is literally a skill issue on your part. Get better or play a different game.

To repeat for the umpteenth time, just for those that don't know -- Bungie's "SBMM" is not true SBMM. It's a pseudo-version. It does not properly track and rank individual skill and matchmake according to that rating and/or fireteam average rating. What Bungie's false SBMM does is attempt to rank individual player skill - but then it expands the net when match-making so the teams paired together are not close in relative skill with one another. It also attempts to merge itself with CBMM -- so even if you have available players with similar skill; it'll favor players with a higher connection speed even if they might be considerably more skilled than you. What it needs to actually do is more accurately rank individual player skill; then make matches based on that rating. For fireteams, it should skew the matchmaking by taking the average of the fireteam's individual ratings -- so that high-skilled players can't just party up with low-rank players to get a super-simple match. Unfortunately though - SBMM will always be a divisive battleground. The streamers and skilled players will hate SBMM, because it means they can no longer have high-kill matches as frequently for content videos/just goofing around. They will have to face players at or around their skill levels in every match and that means they will have to 'sweat', so to speak. On the other hand, for lower-skill players, SBMM when properly implemented is a blessing. It keeps you facing opponents that are right around your skill level; so you never have to go against pvp sweatlords or those fireteams that spend their lives in crucible and trials. You can practice and learn; and improve at your own pace - the downside being that improvement is slower, since you're not playing players that are that much better than you.

Someone is being exposed

12 RepliesThe laughable part is people want sbmm in a looter , but then don't want to ramp up the quality of loot for those who have to sweat in those higher skill matches. I'll pass. Let regular crucible die for all I care. I haven't touched 6s past 2-3 games in a year

Bungie cant cater to people who want to use meme loadouts and people who want to play seriously. Imo they should keep it as SBMM as thats a default for almost all PvP games. Not only that without dedicated servers CBMM only connects people who connect to Destiny Servers well they can still be 2 timezones away

3 RepliesSo you feel that when you play against like skilled players it ruins your fun because you can't casually put on any load out and just shoot and kill other guardians. Those other guardians are exactly why you think your idea of fun should be accepted. They are weaker in skill than you and ever single match they play against players like you who just want easy cannon fodder. What happened to get gud skrub?
