What a joke-Solstice armor master working

After fully embedding embers and selecting the stat increase I wanted, it takes stats away from others. I increased recovery and it took 10 away from resilience. Armor has the lowest total stats of all other amor. Event is the biggest piece of doo doo since I started playing over 3 years ago. What a joke....on me and you. lol EDIT: don't add the spark, stats will go up until you add spark and then it rerolls and can decrease.

  • I’m still very confused. I had the stats to 75, then when I upgraded the armor through the final it went to 73. Shouldn’t the plus ten have brought it up to 85? How the heck does the solstice armor work?

    • Just maxed out my first piece of armour. Thought it would go from 63 to 68 with stat distribution where I wanted it. It was going to be a pretty nice piece. I was looking forward to doing it with all the armour pieces. It went from 63 to 57. I HAVE LOST INTEREST IN THIS EVENT ENTIRELY. OUT.

        • Mobility, Resilience, and Recovery are in one category of point distribution & Discipline, Intellect, Strength are in the other. For example: If you have a total number of 60 on an armor piece, 30 will go to the top 3 stats and 30 will go to the bottom 3 stats. When you focus into Recovery it takes away from Mobility and Resilience. With the Solstice Event, Spark will guarantee a focus of 20+ to that stat. Which would only leave a maximum of 10 points to be distributed between resilience and mobility. One thing you can do is equip a ghost with a perk you want to be at least 10+ and then apply the spark to the other perk you want to be 20+. For example: A ghost with Resilience and a spark focused for Recovery would give you: Recovery of 20, Resilience of 10 and Mobility of 2 if the armor total was 62. With the other 30 points being distributed randomly to the other bottom three stats. Hope that helps you with building some good sets of armor.

            • There's rules to it... max 34 stats per 2 triplet categories: Mobility, Resilience, Recovery (1st triplet) & Discipline, Intellect, Strength. The best way to get the highest stat armor is: 1. Collect good seed pieces, ideally 58+ before adding any embers. 2.Manipulate the split by using the ghost mods for the 1st 2 upgrades... changing it to encourage the spikes you want 3. Use the spark in coordination with your ghost mod & they should be each focused on a different triplet stat. That's how you create the best solstice armor pieces. That's how you get 68s w great splits.

              • I spent all of last years solstice grinding armor for a triple stat build, just to turn around and not have any of the solstice pieces end up in my triple stat build. I just ended up with a bunch of garbage armor and wasted time Better off just rolling the dice and getting the most cracked pair of legendary boots anyone has ever seen from something like a world drop

              • I’ve been playing around with it for quite a while. It felt lack-luster. Not glowy enough and stats are a few points short of most of my other gears including last year solstice. I’m pretty sure the past solstice used to drop slightly higher stat once a full set were masterworked?

Armor has the lowest total stats of all other amor. [/quote] That's how stat buckets work, for lack of a better term. You can't get high rolls in two stats from the same group. One is Mobility, Recovery and Resilience (the class ability stats), the other is Discipline, Strength and Intellect (regular ability stats). The Solstice focusing guarantees that the selected stat gets at least 20, which almost guarantees a low roll for the other associated stats; I'm not sure if it can even enter the double digits. As far the overall total going down, that doesn't matter if you get the stats you want. If you got an item with, say, 26 in Recovery and Discipline on a 60 overall, that's better than a 66 with 22 in each and the extra points going to stats you don't care about.

                • Probably has to do where your stats were allocated + where you put the targeted stat increase. I’d also be willing to bet that the focused armor’s stats are capped at some point. This is meant for newer/casual players to get good armor, not veteran players to replace their great armor. Spiky stats, but meh overall stat packages.

                  • Me and my group are done now as well. First the error with the kindling and I have a constant pop up on my screen. Bungie only acknowledged the issue but hasn't provided any updates in days. They are a joke of a developer. Second, the armor system is a joke. Total waste of time. I can get better armor from seasonal activities. My group and I are starting Remnant II today. We are tired of Bungie and their poor management and constant horrible decision making.

                    • Its a heavy game of chance. I'm totally ok with the stat rerolls kind of randomly choosing what will get more points. Ghost can only hold one modifier that guarantees a base minimum stat. Generally you're not going to get high stats in two columns right on top of each other. It does take alot of time to get the right roll and they can, and will eventually drop with stacked high stats, its just rare and takes dedication. I don't mind a grind at all, I get it. I have multiple pieces that have stacked high stats in Resilience, Recovery, and Discipline, but it took alot of grinding and dismantling, and even rerolling to get those. We can make it easier on ourselves by choosing the Discipline modifier on Ghost. It seems to give the best results, and lessen the grind some, because it is a bit much at times, and could use just a little something to bolster it a bit, but I don't mind armor stat grinding as is either. I think its because of its placement within the list of stats. The only thing I have a problem with is total stat distribution drop. If we're grinding for materials, which I also don't mind, total stats shouldn't drop; bare minimum should match. Like if you have a 53 total initially, any reroll should never go below 53. I've had too many pieces drop in total stat numbers, and it can be by 3 points, and that's frustrating.

                      • this can be slightly avoided by putting on a ghost armor mod for the stat it tells you will be decreased, but I agree, it's stupid

                        • Well, don’t say the orange text on the armors didn’t warn anybody about the cons of embedding embers. Gotta take it as a grain of salt that it might do that.
