Final Shape needs to overdeliver
Idc if your new business model purposely pipelines content so that you constantly underdeliver and promote mediocrity from your GDC video
Final Shape NEEDS to overdeliver to make this light vs dark saga bs have any weight. If its anything like Lightfall with nothing but reskinned guns, crap armor again, more shaders locked behind walls, or a campaign that is somehow WORSE than Lightfall, then expect a lot of backlash.

Final Shape is unlikely to over deliver. Based on their output (DLC and several seasons) I expect that those heavily invested in the game will largely consider it to be a disappointment in terms of story/plot progression/conclusion and character development/growth. I expect the campaign to be short and average at best. I will be surprised if there is much in the way of positive change to the core playlists of Strikes/Gambit/Crucible. Parts of the story will no doubt continue to play out via weekly chats over the intercom with whichever character is the ‘focus’ of each season following the Final Shape DLC. If you have learned from the past and have appropriately low expectations then in a manner similar to Lightfall, none of this will be a real disappointment. It’ll just be confirmation that you were right to stop caring a while ago.

I agree but I have little faith man. They've already wheeled out the corpse of Cayde-6 (Cayde-7 now?) in what I can only describe as desperation, as his death was incredibly impactful and his return ruins said impact. I'll call it now, everyone important dies. We do some time traveling B.S., everyone comes back. Thank you Guardian! Buy our shoddy cringe merch!

Tbh, we’ll be lucky if we get a coherent story from start of campaign to end. All they need to do to make people give it good reviews is explain what the maguffin is this go-around and people will be happy no matter how crappy the narrative has become.

Its not, keep your expectations low. Destiny has been out for 8 years now, if you guys keep getting your hopes up at this point then its your fault when you get disappointed.

The chances of the final shape living up to/matching expectation are very low. Not to say it will be bad or lacking content.. It is the finale. 10 years leading up to it. Even with all the content droughts, bad dlc’s and seasons… The multitude of expectations will be very hard to please. I think the year will be.. good.. if the rumors are true.. but the dlc itself will not live up to our decade of imaginations.

The only thing that Final Shape will deliver more on is Eververse items and everything else will just be a reskin.

They do NOT have the talent to do this. This is pretty evident by now. All that is left now are interns that know how the higher ups like their coffee so this is why they still have a job. There is no ACTUAL talent and REAL programmers/designers left there anymore.

Don't be silly, Bungie doesn't need to overdeliver Final shape. They just need to put an OP exotic gun and something cool like Sparrow transmog into the preorder only access and they will have record breaking sales again. Then they are free to underdeliver as far as they want because they already got paid.
