Here's why Bungie can't care about Destiny.
Destiny 2 is more or less done. They have it on the belt an have worked done on almost all the content. Why spend resources fixing this game when MARATHON is their prime focus ? All the tools are going to MARATHON an it's PvP an it's marketing. Let's not even get into the fact all the Testers , actual Devs an I'm sure MARATHON will get the actual CMs not the B team we have.
I've gotten 2 separate long winded DMs on here , 1 on Xbox an was spam invited to a party to *explain myself*
I see why Cosmo, DMG , Deej left you people an this swamp
Remember Activision stated they split with Bungie due to the game not making money .
I love this game , but this isn't Bungie who made Halo, ODST, Reach.
This is what's left after.
Let's all be honest, they should have stayed with Microsoft, an never been on PC.

D2 - guaranteed profit. Marathon - questionable profit. They care about D2 and the money it makes. They are not giving up on that profit, be 100%. It simply appears they do not care, cause they have the money rn, but if the profit from D2 starts to go lower than expected, they will react and fast.

This is true but for me at least, it has turned me completely off from Marathon. I love PvP in D2 (even though I suck at it) and I understand why they wouldn't add dedicated servers to it at this stage because it is a big undertaking. What I don't understand and don't like is the utter lack of work put into it for the last couple years. No new maps, wonky anti-cheat and MM, slow balancing, etc. Needless to say, I won't be playing Marathon or any Bungie game in the foreseeable future.

They don’t have high level talent or leadership working on the game. That is the real issue. They can’t create balance and health. The imagination and out of the box thinking is gone and the current group is clearly struggling.

Not that it excuses this poor excuse of a product, but that's the main crux as to why things are so bad. I would go as far as to wager the people (shareholders of Bungie) TRULY making the decisions for Destiny don't understand what a Steam launcher is or would even be capable of running an EZ mode strike. But we also don't know how much actual Bungie leadership kicks back on obviously terrible ideas or if they genuinely support them (Eververse). [b][u]Corporate investment is killing the gaming industry as a whole. Destiny is no exception.[/u] [/b] After seeing the passionless ViDoc for Lightfall that convinced me to lay down the game after the content I paid for was vaulted for the year (Witch Queen seasons), I haven't touched D2 once. I don't plan on playing it again either unless the shareholders command Bungie to make Destiny a halfway decent product again. TFS is gonna have to wow the absolute -blam!- out of me in order to get me to give them money again. Its the only reason I continue to hang around here pissing and moaning on occasion when I'm bored at work. If TFS is a no go, I'm just out for good. I get better enjoyment these days out of OSRS and WoW Classic. Destiny was one of my favorite hobbies. Key word being "was." But I wouldn't mind revisiting it one more time.

It’s been 10 years they don’t have any content past that timeline for destiny. They probably didn’t expect to be here for this long. That’s why we don’t have any new pvp maps. But we have marathon which I’m excited for. All the destiny fanboys are hoping for a marathon fail but it’s going to be the exact opposite 😂

Name another company that is able to charge premium price and register record profits during an end of product cycle phase despite having less customers overall? They probably just don’t see any value in spending that marginal cost, which I fully understand and honestly envy from a business perspective. It’s annoying from a customer standpoint, it feels like poor value on the dollar for all those that supported this IP all along, but that doesn’t mean it’s dead. In fact, I’m willing to bet that next year will see record profits. Also nope, the only official statement you could find about Activision’s decision back then came from their CEO and read: “Bungie’s consistent inability to deliver content in quality and time.” Nothing more. Had Activision been a private corporation, Bungie would still be a subsidiary.

well if they treat destiny customers poorly no reason to expect they wont with marathon. so they should follow through so buyers have confidence in their service. but thats just how my mind works.

Definitely so for PvP. Marathon all but confirms the suspicious that their PvP has moved on from Destiny (they can’t monetize it anymore). But PvE? They’re gonna keep milking the crap out of it

In fact, I bet if you give it till August 22nd, when they announce the next DLC after TFS, you'll see it's not done. Regardless of your opinion or mine on the state of the current game, people are logging on. The player numbers aren't as atrocious as you'd think, even with the mountain of issues. I have played less int he last month and a half than I have in probably a couple years. I WISH people weren't continuing to play so we could get major change. They are. Just facts. Why spend money on this game? Because it's the only thing currently making them money-a practice they can't just....stop. Marathon isn't even available for pre-order yet so they literally CAN'T make money on it and they're not just going to tank their only money maker 2 years before Marathon is even released. Yes, they put their best pvp team on a pvp-centric game. If this isn't self-explanatory, Idk what is. The rest is just you making stuff up. All the tools are going to Marathon for marketing? Is Marathon getting an August showcase? Did they not ALSO advertise Destiny at the same time they dropped the Marathon reveal? Like you're just wrong and making things up lmao.
