Sucks hand cannons are getting nerfed but honestly it’s pretty irrelevant as well. The archetype has been pretty useless for the last few seasons and it looks like nothing is going to change going into the new few seasons. Also, range isn’t that important on hand cannons (not the stats the actual damage fall off). Good players will always play inside optimal ranges and the difference of 5 meters will not affect any good players. Bungie could give hand cannons a 10 meter range buff next season and they’ll still be a useless weapon archetype. Every single weapons archetype in the game has a faster TTK than hand cannons. The only thing hand cannons can provide is the ability to peak shot and honestly so what? Pulse rifles can peak shot just as well. Bows are the best peak shot weapon in the game. Scout rifles are literally just hand cannons with infinite range and peak shot exactly the same. And, on top of all of that, if you’re in close range then using an smg or side arm or fusion or shotgun are all better options than a hand cannons. If you’re playing to win there’s absolutely zero reason to use a hand cannon over any other weapon archetype in the game. But hey, what do I know, I’m just a top 0.1% KD player who has been rank 1 in the world in multiple playlist multiple times. I’m sure the casual players who struggle getting 3 wins in trials will come out to disagree with them like they always do.

3 RepliesHandcannons practically have the same range as they did before, but now you aren't forced to waste a perk on Rangefinder. If anything, that's a buff to their versatility.

I would like to say "Maybe they are shorter in range because they won't feel like you're getting kicked in the uterus by a Galaxy Hooves every time you pull the trigger" but if they were reducing the awfulness of how they feel they would have mentioned it.

Kinda seems like Handcannons will be the only mid range weapon worth using tbh. The ranges will be similar but HC's will still have higher burst damage and the ability to peak shoot. Just have to see how it goes I guess.

19 RepliesI dislike the fact the chart is 0-100 range, it’s extremely misleading we have maybe 2 handcannons that can even achieve 100 range. The charts should show 50,60,70 etc…what even qualifies as 0 range base stat? It just leaves too much for speculation.

All weapons minus auto got reigned in so...it's not really that bad. Also autos deserved a floor buff, not so much a ceiling buff. 600s shouldnt even be allowed to go between 22 and 36 meters, that's just insanely unfair on both sides of the spectrum. Reason why it's fair: autos have the highest demand for stability in the game, needing it for the most recoil control and flinch while everything else barely needs it and can just spec all into range. That variance makes them terrible if the stats aren't optimal. Hence why nobody uses even average rolled ones like you'd see for other options.

Now they are getting a nerf? 120s and 140s are arguably the most balanced weapons in the game for pvp, I dont get these out of touch changes.

10 RepliesI don't really like RF on 120 hand cannons, they fell awful for me, so my 120's are getting a slight buff, but if 340 pulses aren't going to be nerfed properly it's not enough
