Currant, Cabbage, Weasel, Frustration

Good Afternoon D2 Team. I started in February and have been grinding pretty hard since. Gameplay from February to about two weeks ago was pretty damn solid, for me at least. There were minimal to no errors at all for months/weeks. I previously hadn't seen a Cabbage or Currant Code. When I did error out, it was Broccoli. As of about 2 weeks ago, I am unable to properly load into ANY POI, Nightfall, Gambit, Legend/Master Lost Sector, etc. If and when this game does load, I can get to a POI and there is nothing around, and disconnect with "Currant" OR "Cabbage" shortly thereafter. I had to leave an LFG Last Wish raid group because the Taken Blights and boss were invisible. I also left an LFG RoN last night because the Dark and Light Acorns weren't showing in the beginning, neither were the enemies. It was a raid ghost town. Sometimes the game works for about 15 minutes which is awesome then floodgates open with the error codes listed above. On Saturday (1JULY), after about a week and a half of struggling with errors, I decided to buy another Modem/Router as mine was around 6 years old. I thought this may have been the problem. My wife plays Call of Duty, Phasmophobia, Fall Guys , and Sons of the Forest pretty religiously while I attempt to play this--so we purchased a Nighthawk AX8. I followed all the BUNGIE technical support forums as far as opening ports, forwarding ports, UPnP, hardwiring, NAT. I have also uninstalled D2 and reinstalled x2. I have ran as "Administrator". Ping checker reveals less than 30 with 54 being my highest. I am 582.4Mbps down and 21.6Mbps up. Packet loss check reveals 0% loss. Firmware check says modem/router is up to date. I have asked my ISP if there are issues with my net and the answer is "No", and I imagine they are tired of hearing from me as I have called 3x in a week. Yesterday, I was a little more than frustrated so I redownloaded MW2 and it works FLAWLESSLY. I played for a few hours last night with the wife and friends, but I would rather play this and they all know that. It's a game at the end of the day, so it's not the end of the world, however, I feel that the people that paid for your content to play this game [b][u]deserve[/u] [/b] a few answers as to what is going on. I was hoping this Tuesday reset will help some of the issues I think more than myself are encountering, but it did not. If every other game works, I know it is not on my end anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would LOVE to continue to play, and thank anyone in advance who wishes help. Hope everyone had a happy 4th.

  • I'm in your same exact situation. I posted a thread a while ago and got promptly ignored because no one has a damn clue about what's going on behind the scenes in Bungie's servers. I absolutely refuse to believe that these error codes are on my end (or your's) when all of my other games work perfectly fine and my internet works perfectly fine. The only reason I'm even remotely worried it's because of me is that none of my other friends/clanmates are experiencing this, and that these forums or the subreddit or twitter aren't being blown up.

      Hi there! Error codes CABBAGE and CURRANT are network based error codes. CABBAGE indicates that your network connection to the Destiny 2 server is being blocked. This can normally happen when the ports being used for Destiny 2 are being used by your ISP or your modem for monitoring purposes and can most commonly occur on Technicolor or Thomson equipment. CURRANT normally indicates that there is a connectivity disruption between the host connection and client connection that is outside of Bungie’s network or control. Based on the information provided, it sounds like your ISP may be using the ports Destiny 2 uses to monitor your connection or for security purposes. Have you spoken yo your ISP about this and provided them with the ports in the troubleshooting guide noted below to see if they are actively using those ports? https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049496751-Advanced-Troubleshooting-UPnP-Port-Forwarding-and-NAT-Types I would also like to take the opportunity to note that testing other online games is not a gold standard when it comes to troubleshooting an issue with one game. It can help rule out if you can get online or not, but that is about it. All games have different connection paths and mechanisms to connect to their online services. Games such as Modern Warfare 2, FIFA 2K, or No Man’s Sky have different connection structures and workflows than Destiny 2 and are unique in nature.

      • I feel you, I also started Destiny 2 at the start of this year just after Lightfall dropped. And I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I quite enjoyed the campaign and the attempt to bring a new “funny” character back after Cayde. I played this game religiously, for solid 5 hours after work pretty much everyday and a bit more on the weekends. And paying for all the previous contents and buying destiny 1 to get to know the lore. For the first 3 or so months of it was amazing, everything flowed smoothly, and I believed I found my new game to grind out. Then as of the middle of last month to now, I have not been able to achieve 30 minutes without being booted, and eventually giving up after the 10th attempt. Even after all that I was still getting super excited on Tuesdays to see the new reset, but as of late I did not have the motivation to have to deal with all the pop up “contacting Server” messages and the errors. And I constantly check the app/forum to hoping see the “they’ve fixed it” post. It’s a shame because Destiny really got me hooked, but now it’s slowly drifting away again. Really do hope they do something about it.
