How in the world? Spoilers for new mission.
So you have a time limit, a mechanic where you have to run around and find 3 RNG ENEMIES, then you have 1 minute to deal about 10M damage to a TORMENTOR if you run out of the 8 minute timer it gives YOU FAIL, the enemies also deal insane damage at max resilience I was being two shot by all the ads combine this with todays modifier of enemies inflicting stasis on melee which the phalanx shield blasts count and they're spammed like no tomorrow and you have an annoying mission.
Edit: He also chases you around the map as well so if you separate to make hunting the required enemies easier he'll be near one of the players

It’s not as hard you make it seem. It’s doable and if you can’t clear it, change your load out. This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while and people wanting it to be easy for an EXOTIC mission just want a handout at this point. I didn’t even know it was timed the first run. We timed out, were like “oh it was timed?,” and ran it for a second clear. It’s easy, stop wanting hand outs, strategize

1 ReplyTypically, you get 3 damage phases. Also use arc and void resistant mods. Honestly the only hard part is that tormentors have a small crit and above average damage resistance to the body. Thunder lord or leviathans breath are good because they can soft loft the boss by stunning them. Also use divinity.

It took me quite a few tries but if I can do it anyone can. I just had to get good. Same applies to anyone.

100 res doesn’t do much make sure to use the other defense mods like void defense for the axion darts and the tormenter aka hulk.

3 RepliesBring Div. job done. But for real. Did it second try. With 3 mins left on LFG. Went strand Titan. Used Div. and ran around like a madman trying to find the mini bosses in order to attack the big one. Not a fan of the time gate or the boss having insane health (which seems to just the answer to difficulty now. ‘Make it spongy’

-blam!- the timers ruin everything in this game. Keep the stupid slowed modifier in the mission but the timer is completely stupid. We had to use 2 strand titans and 1 well, one div and 2 retrofit crafted LMG's to get it done. the person with div had to run around wording all the minotaurs God no way l am doing this crap again lol

Stop complaining it’s been solo already Im far from a bungie boot licker, just can’t stand then endless complaining of dumb ppl saying stuff like it’s to hard. And these are the some ppl who have 20 resilience rock double primary and use 3 well warlocks because they can’t stay alive. The game is not hard. And if ppl keep complaining the nxt exotic is gonna be yet again in the season pass. Instead of a mission. If destiny and bungie is teaching me a lesson is that we should be greatful for what we get. The content we are getting is less and less. Bungie is just gonna see these comments and think oke how to monetize this better nxt time. You know what will make the nxt exotic linked to a festival of the lost or solstitis behind the 10 dollar play card event. And the grind will be lengthy but not hard. That’s why i said stop complaining it’s not hard it’s a rpg/mmo learn the meta and compleet

19 RepliesBiggest issue I have with these type of missions, the reward is a vault dust collector. So difficult content ends up netting you one less vault space in an already limited space.

2 RepliesIt’s basically The Whisper all over again + GM limitations (not so much on the LL and Revives but still). Not that much of a fan of the maze design of the tileset even though the game highlights the enemies you need to kill to increase your damage against the Tormentor. First boss’ a pushover while the Tormentor loses it’s mind.

9 RepliesYeah, just tried it. After all 3 of us used all our heavy and a couple of supers the bosses health was still over like 80%… -blam!- that bungie. Way too much health, going back to Diablo 4 at least that game isn’t a steaming pile of -blam!-, bungie clearly doesn’t care anymore and to be honest the gun would end up in the vault like all the others.

6 RepliesOn my run A div and 2 linears killed him with a little over 4 min left But that was after multiple failures with Lamemt and Tractor Cannon, Thunderlord is also good , I was using my crafted Briars Contempt because it does extra damage to Tormentors Now the catalyst grind begins

We were not prepared for the boss. The slow spam is super annoying and everything hits like a truck. Only got him to like 80% before timing out.

Just did a deep dive in mm, we placed all 3 blades. At the end i think we all was abit…now what? So…ive spent all this time getting the exotic fish for some for die hard near impossible time trial crap while most of my clan is on hiatus. Great. Well, at least i got an emblem.
