As of Season of the Deep, players who don't own the season pass cannot progress from Guardian Rank 5 to Rank 6. This is because one of the challenges at Rank 5, "Sonar Station Reputation", is impossible to fulfill. The challenge requires 2 rank ups with the seasonal vendor (Sonar Station). Without the season pass, the player can't access the Seasonal activities, bounties, and quests offered by this vendor, meaning they can't gain Vendor Rank-Ups. This appears to have a few consequences. For instance: [u]Armor Charge mods inaccessible[/u] Armor Charge mods are unlocked by the Rank challenge "Threats and Surges", done at Rank 6.
